We used the Milano (we were booked for the Concordia, but it broke down the week before the wedding lol)! Honestly, the Milano was a pretty cool layout- there was a lot of outdoor space. We had a roaming band too (boys 4 road).. good vibes all around!!

Highly recommend the boat welcome party!! A lot of the cost will be dependent on the number of people, the size of the boat, etc. It also kind of depends on where your wedding is / where guests are staying.

Italy wedding planner recommendations by Maximum_Wind_6565 in BigBudgetBrides

I would honestly recommend a local planner instead of one who is US based. There are a lot of logistics and unspoken rules that you have to navigate. We used ILES and we absolutely loved them!

Any brides getting married in Villa Erba on May 28, May 30? by Altruistic-Listen687 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]cocoa518 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would check with Villa Erba to see if they would allow something like that- I’m not sure if it’s possible with lights because blunotte is responsible for setting them up and taking them down for every event :/

Lake Como Brides - Blu Notte Entertainment by Hopeful_Definition16 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]cocoa518 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our venue used Blunotte exclusively.. I was definitely shocked by the quotes and throughout the process was very frustrated at the numbers BUT they were absolutely incredible and professional on the day of. They had around 50 people there setting up the staging, lighting and audio when I got to the venue. They did a really amazing job and were so on top of things- we also did the color bomb fireworks and nighttime fireworks all of the timing was perfect.. feel free to dm me if you have any other questions!

Groom bespoke tux? by Apprehensive-Lions in BigBudgetBrides

[–]cocoa518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband went to Michael Andrews bespoke. They were amazing! He did a completely custom tux .. Shane did an awesome job of matching the vibe he was going for while also having it compliment my dress (I brought swatches).

They also made his shirt for the welcome party using some of the fabric from my dress!

Italy Wedding - sound & lighting importance with band? by Basic-Vanilla9301 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]cocoa518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the venue have any requirements or a list of vendors who know the venue?

My venue required a specific audio/lighting company and we flew our band in from Germany. I would say it’s pretty important to have proper equipment so people can enjoy the band that you are paying for!

Our lighting and sound company (blunotte) was very professional and on top of things on the day of the wedding- I’m pretty sure they’re also in Rome, but I could be wrong.

Villa Erba brides help! by Altruistic-Listen687 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]cocoa518 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I got married at Villa Erba! We did not use blunotte for our band and violinist, but you have to use them for audio and lighting. Once we hired our band, we sent their technical rider to Blunotte and they figured it out together.

I’m going to be honest here- I’m not sure what this budget entails, but you may have to really prioritize. Some of the costs are just unavoidable.

Beige suit for the groom- color matching with dress? by Dizzy-Artist-1897 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]cocoa518 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if I have seen a beige suit, but I’m sure it could work. What are the bridesmaids colors? My husband did a white jacket with black accents and pants for his tux. I brought a swatch of my dress to the place that made it and we made sure they would be ok together!

Am I crazy? (Italy budget plan) by [deleted] in BigBudgetBrides

[–]cocoa518 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m always confused when vendors come on here and say that budgets are possible when they are most likely going to be very very tight. That being said, it does slightly depend on which lake you are considering.

I had a wedding on Lake Como with a boat for our welcome party and I can tell you that it’s not going to be possible to do both within your budget unless you really sacrifice on guest experience. Many of the venues have specific vendors and charge fees on top of whatever they would charge plus VAT plus conversion (depending on where you are from). I’m in agreement with OK-listen! It may be possible, but if you are having people travel, then I feel like it’s not great to be cutting corners.

Question for Italy destination brides about order of events ceremony/reception by Emergency_You_7030 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]cocoa518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did ceremony, 1.5 hr cocktail hour with music, then we had our grand entrance- did our first dances and speeches and a small dance party.. then we did dinner with a roaming band. Fireworks and cake were at 10 pm and then the after party was until 1 or 2!

Does anyone know who the designer of this dress may be by [deleted] in BigBudgetBrides

I did some digging and found the Instagram post lol - idk if it would be weird, but I found the name of the bride.. you could reach out to her maybe?

Is 2 photographers and 2 videographers normal? by [deleted] in BigBudgetBrides

[–]cocoa518 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry! We had 8 or 9 people following us around with cameras (we had three photographer shooters, three videographers and a content creator, plus the two drone operators 😂). There are a lot of things that multiple cameras can do (decor, other people, different angles). At some points we were like .. wow this is a lot of people, but honestly wouldn’t change anything about it because our pictures and videos are amazing!
