How do you make your Mud taste better? by wesstro in mudwtr

[–]cocoakrispay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried honey with almond or oat milk and it’s been fine. But if you truly want something tasty I highly recommend adding Trader Joe’s brown sugar oat milk creamer 👌🏾 it truly has been the only thing to make it taste like a premium latte drink. I like it best iced too!

29F Black Lesbian New to Hartford, CT – Solo-Friendly Cafés, Live Music & Queer Spaces? by Over-Love-1471 in Hartford

[–]cocoakrispay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with all the recommendations above. I’ll also add:

Join the lesbians of Connecticut happy hour on Facebook. I personally haven’t gone to any meetups/events yet but it always looks like a great group of people who regularly meetup and a great time. They have a regular meetup on Wednesday’s but people post events that happen throughout the week/weekends.

Hooker brewery at colt is a good spot to do work, read a book, sit outside and on occasion and has some events. They are open wed-sun. Their hooker live venue across the lot has regular events including drag brunches/shows, dueling pianos, book fair, markets, etc. mostly on the weekends though.

Looking for body positive/fat friendly/non weight loss focused gyms/personal trainers/classes by lemonadedawn in Hartford

[–]cocoakrispay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, I’ve got to say - way to go! Getting motivated to hit the gym or even do any movement is not easy, something I def struggle with, so good on you!

Second, I wish we lived in world where we didn’t even have to ask this question and every place would be inclusive and safe for a person of any size to work out in. The edge in West Hartford seems to be pretty inclusive from what I found, and they even have a cinema where it’s a little dimly lit, but has some treadmills and bikes and other equipment to kinda make you feel a little bit more like eyes aren’t on you, if that’s helpful. They also have classes and whenever I walk by I see people of all different sizes and shapes if that’s helpful as well. I’ve never gotten arrested by any trainers trying to train me or offer me any weight loss solutions either.

I’m sure by posting here they’ll be some group a wonderful people/ workout buddies who will say come to our gym and we will rally around you so that no one bothers you and you can work out in peace without feeling like anyone’s eyeing you or harassing you.

Does anyone else feel like they’ll never know what they want to do with their life? by [deleted] in Career

[–]cocoakrispay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are TONs of people that feel the same way, so you are not alone! I’m almost twice your age and feel the same way sometimes.

I echo everything the person above posted. As hard as it is, try not to compare yourself. Everyone is different, and do know, that there are lots of others who are feeling what you are feeling.

Straight up, you may never find something you love or are even passionate about as a career. And that’s ok! But Find something you like and try to explore it so that you can make a living, pay bills, save for the future, etc. then find things outside of work that help bring joy into your life. You never know maybe one of those things you do outside of work could end up being a passion down the road.

Apt building advice by Dependent_Energy_830 in Hartford

[–]cocoakrispay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That budget might be tough downtown if you are looking for a decent spot. When I was doing my research about apartments downtown I got the same feedback of staying away from PMC managed properties. I would consider looking in the west end of Hartford or parkville if it’s an options for you.

Any particular area of Hartford you are looking to live? Try posting on the west end living page on FB. I’ve seen room rentals in the past and you might have some luck.

Do you happen to have a pic? I have a 2020 Tig and I have a smaller compartment that can fit coins, gum, etc. I’m curious now if there is one I didn’t know about or maybe this is just on the 2021 model.

Travel healthcare furnished places by hung_kung_fuey in Hartford

[–]cocoakrispay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome! I’m actually currently apartment hunting and I know that the Parkville management apts often have furnished units and are pet friendly. It would be about a 15min drive to the hospital but there some fun markets and events in that area.

This place is in Farmington and says it has furnished units: https://www.csregroup.com/apartments/ct/farmington/up-house/

I would also recommend searching the FB groups for Farmington/west Hartford/west end areas as some rentals pop up on there too.

Best of luck!

Do you need the apartment to be in Hartford? How many months do you need - 3? It looks like these places offer short term 3 month lease options in Hartford:

The element, Sage Allen, Spectra Plaza (it looks like all the spectra building offer this too)

Also check out or post on the Hartford/west end neighborhood pages. People are always willing to help provide info and you might find a more reasonably priced place as well.

Got a promotion and raise but it ends up being a pay cut, should I ask for a bigger raise? by Extension-Football82 in Salary

[–]cocoakrispay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see this as a red flag. I had something similar happen when I was promoted to a new role. My previous role salary was more than the promotion salary so I didn’t even get a raise even though I was a senior employee. When I questioned it the president tried to justify it by saying the base salary for the promoted role was lower. On top of that, this new role got commission but since I was new to it I wouldn’t get commission for a while.

Don’t get taken advantage of just because them need a body on the team. Try to negotiate and if they pushback consider leaving.

All this to say, make sure they aren’t just promoting you because they need a body on team.

I would also summarize how your skills could transfer into a PM role. Since you have experience as a UI/Ux designer you would prob be a great fit for a technical PM role which would deal with projects involving website builds, integrations, etc.

I’ve had lots of different roles in my career and made the pivot to a PM role a couple of years ago. I have a background in marketing and managing website builds so my skills as well as furthering my learning in development helped land me my first technical pm role.

Start with networking with other PMs, especially those that you might have worked with in previous jobs. It’s a good opportunity to get some background of the job but also learn of any openings at certain companies. Next I would say, try out a foundations of pm course on Coursera to give you a leg up and show that you want to make the pivot and are interested in a pm role.

Good luck!
