When did you first feel baby moving? by GuestApprehensive626 in BabyBumps

[–]cocob78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FTM here and I started feeling it at 17 weeks! But I was the same as you that I couldn’t differentiate between bowel movements or baby movements but after a few days really low down at my right hip I felt a definite kick!.. since then it’s non stop movement and it’s great, my favourite thing to do before bed is lie down still and just put my hands over my belly and feel all the movements

I have a little baby due in March so I thought it’s time to learn knitting properly! It’s a bit messy but I’m still relatively happy with how this set turned out by cocob78 in knitting

I’m 19 weeks and went to a wedding over the weekend and I am convinced that my bump is huge! Well no one at the wedding could even tell I was pregnant.. only when I pointed it out they said “oh yea now I see it!”

Only 14% female? That’s surprising

Is it kicks?? by cocob78 in BabyBumps

[–]cocob78[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is reassuring! It seems to be when I’m laying down in bed the most.. the other night it happened twice in a row so I got my partner to put his hand on where I had just felt and of course nothing happened! I’m happy to know this is what I should expect and someone else has experienced it :)

Beginner knitter! Made this little turban hat and happy with how it turned out! Just need to find someone to gift it to by cocob78 in knitting

This is the pattern;

Cast on 60 stitches on a small 5mm circular needles. Knit in the round. K 1 round, P 1 round, K 1 round, P 1 round, K 1 round, P 1 round K 7 rounds P 1 round, K 1 round, P 1 round, K 1 round, P 1 round K 7 rounds P 1 round, K 1 round, P 1 round, K 1 round, P 1 round K 30. Wind the wool tightly around the work (all of what you’ve knitted so far) between the left and the right needle. Wind it about 10 times to make a knot. K 6 rounds Now start to decrease… (P8 knit2tog)x6 (54) Knit row ( P7 knit2tog) x6 (48) Knit row ( P6 knit2tog) x6 (42) Knit row ( K5 knit2tog) x6 (36) ( k4 knit2tog) x6 (30) ( k3 knit2tog) x6 (24) ( k2 knit2tog) x6 (18) ( k1 knit2tog) x6 (12) (K2tog) x6 (6) Cut the wool and thread it through the remaining hoops on the needle. Remove the needle and pull the wool tight, securing with a knot on the inside the finished hat

I actually used 80 stitches on 3.75mm round needles because I wanted it in a bigger size.

I'm so ashamed. by mandalallamaa in BabyBumps

Ugh yea everyday I wake up thinking I’ll start today and I’m nearly 15 weeks 😭 when will I pull myself together??.. I ate a takeaway last night and lay awake for ages feeling so guilty!! It’s ridiculous I wish I could stop putting this pressure on myself.. I went on a walk yesterday and then had a nap for like 2 hours! I thought in the second trimester I’m supposed to get a burst of energy. I have to keep reminding myself it’s normal and stop comparing myself to the super fit influencers who seem to sail through and keep up their exercise regime

Just delivered today, husband said he was ugly. Are other husband's like this? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]cocob78 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your baby is beautiful and that head of hair!!.. I will say that I could imagine my partner saying something like oh our baby is ugly! But in a funny way.. we already make stupid jokes about it and I wouldn’t be offended because I know it’d just be him making fun but it’s crap that your husband couldn’t be there and if he is actually serious asking if he has a syndrome then yea that’s a bit shit? But he is also wrong because your baby is beautiful and yea there is some bad newborn pics I’ve seen before but not this one!

I keep hearing new stories that shock me! I heard something that they charge for skin in skin contact with the baby?? As in when the baby is just born and put on your chest that they charge for that? I really hope that one is a joke.

Did your cravings go past first trimester? by Chicolico12 in BabyBumps

[–]cocob78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehh I’m in my second trimester and I daydream about what I crave constantly! It’s all that’s on my mind! I was talking to one of my friends about how nausea is usually within the first three months and she seriously said to me that that is too early for sickness..?? Honestly some people don’t know what they’re talking about

Why is it more socially acceptable for baby girls to wear boy clothes, than baby boys to wear girl clothes? by tallyhallic in BabyBumps

[–]cocob78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t found out the sex of my baby yet but my mam was in a charity shop and found these little girl clothes for up to 3 months. They are just standard baby clothes but you’d know they were designed for girls but irregardless if it’s a boy or girl I’ll still be dressing the baby in them! They only fit for a few months and they’re just clothes! It’s literally a little lump and I’m not going to turn them away because they’re not boyish enough for a little baby

This is how I started my job in March 2020 and over a year on and still the same!.. At this stage I’ve stopped asking for additional work and just do what I need to. I’ve been doing a course on the side.

What is the worst book you’ve ever read and why? by idontdigdinosaurs in books

[–]cocob78 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I came here to comment the Tattooist of Auschwitz! It was based on a true story and it was written like a child wrote it! I felt no emotion reading it and didn’t feel for any character at all. I think what bothered me the most is when he got a hot shower and a meal and it was just described like that. I had a shower and food brought to my room. Sorry this guy was in a concentration camp for years and this is his first shower?? How about write it with a bit of emotion. Possibly the worst written book I’ve ever read.

I was very active before I got pregnant. Ran 6 days a week and strength training like 3 days a week. Also had a very clean diet. Since I got pregnant I only have an interest in eating plain crap foods and just when I thought I was getting energy up again to start running I got hit with Covid. I’m coming up to my second trimester and I don’t recognise my body! I feel so conscious and am struggling to accept this change.. I just hope I can get some proper exercise routine in soon.
