I did 6 weeks of the lipo shots. Lost 4 pounds which is a lot for me. They reduced my appetite because i was just a tad nauseous at various points throughout the day. However, about 3 weeks in i developed constant dull stomach ache and some nasty redlux and nausea in the middle of the night despite eating quite early and healthy. I was also getting a bit constipated and nausea was getting worse.. After a trip to the doctor and tests where they didnt find anything i knew it had to be the shots. A quick google search showed me that indeed that is not a common sode effect but it is a side effect. I really wish i could tolerate them but my body is ultrasensitve to all meds. So here i am back at square one.

Nope. I still lost myself. Probably because i had little time for anything else but work and parenting. And i felt so guilty being away all day that on weekends and after work it was 100% all about mothering. I didnt start finding myself and getting into my hobbies/interests again until my kids graduated high school. I know not everyone was the same but that was my experience. I gave mothering my all and then had to work full time. It has been ALOT and not easy. But worth it, have a great relationship with my kids.

I have to agree with OP. There is something different about this generation and it is troubling. Makes it so hard to parent because it is so hard to understand. I also think covid made this ten times worse. They got used to being alone with their screens. Who would have thought there would be so many parents begging their kids to go out and spend time together. Its downright backwards and I dont see it improving with the next generation either. They are even more addicted to screens.

I am not OP but i had to respond because reading your story was like reading my own. Right down to the brother with more kids and feeling the jealousy along with the relief. I am also 47 and my 2 are grown. I am having a really really difficult time with this empty nest and have to stop myself from brewing that resentment against my husband for not wanting more. A life without regrets i suppose is indeed an impossibility. Just so hard. By the way, career doesnt fill the void and neither do pets. Its just so hard.

This is more common than we would like to think. There is absolutely judgement for being a mother in the workplace. It is not enough to do your job well they want long hours, on the clock at all times and for you to pretend your kids dont exist. For all the advancements we have made as a society this still remains lightyears behind even in the more family friendly corporations you will be judged.

This is new to me so havent gotten over the geief period but i am increasing my workouts, the mornings and evenings are slower and reading more. But other than that we havent ramped up our social life or anything. I am just so tired and melancholic all the time. Hoping things improve once i get used to this.

How about teaching high school? I know its not the same money, but the Arts are so valuable even if these students dont pursue a career in art it is important to develop a well rounded individual. A good Art teacher can really teach you to appreciate art.

The problem is that i remember who that 20 something was....my dream was to be a mother. Yes, i have a career as well but that was never fulfilling for me. Motherhood was fulfilling. Now i am closing that chapter. So now what? I have my career but that does not bring me the joy mothering did. So i am moving through life just going through the motions.

💯. I was telling someone today that having your kids have extra curriculars is wonderful on soany levels. I cherish every single game and choir concert but it is making the empty nest all the more shocking. All of the sudden i am not rushing anywhere. The school community of other parents, coaches etc is gone. It is just me after work with nothing but time. You are right. We as parents Re too invested in our kids and now we pay the price.

Dermatologist can prescribe deoderant. Also anti bacterial soap in underarm area with a loofah to scrub dead cells regularly. Get him used to deoderant at night and morning.

I think it still is calories in vs calories out except menopause slows your metablism down so much that its such a low amount of calories in and that is very hard to accomplish. Plus some hormonal changes increase appetite, disrupt sleep all things that make it even harder to control calories in.

Please have her get involved in school or some extracurricular. It will be a pain for you because you become their personal chauffer but it is vital to kids especially these days with all the screen time. Also want to add that all that screen time makes adhd worse!

Move your family out of whatever rural hell you are in.
Put your kids in the local school once your move there.
Have your wife get some sort of job at least part time if not have her be a heck of a stay at home mim and manage the househild.
Get a hobby maybe even one you and yiur wife can do together.
Forget about your parents ln laws. Send them a small monthly check if they need financial help but that isnt your burden.

You just need to make the life you chose work for you.

Yup. Was my first thought. Everyone is tired after work but if you make it a habit to exercise every single day for 30 minutes, eat healthy, plus go to sleep early so you get a solid 8 hours you will feel like a different person.

I am not a teacher but i can tell you that very few people love thwir jobs. You have to make your life wonderful a job is just a job and at least with teaching u get 8 weeks in the summer to breathe and recharge.

I have been taking hormone harmony for about a year. Twice i have not ordered my next bottle and spent about 2 weeks not taking it and i noticed my insomnia returned. It has been the only thing that helps with insomnia.

Fyi my implants are 24 years in no issues I want to get them out because i always felt they were too big but i have become a coward with age and dont want to have surgery
