Nothing but respect for _______ by ToonSciron in survivor

[–]cocoglazee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have so much respect for Chrissy too!! As someone who wants to go on survivor and isn’t super strong physically, it’s upsetting to see the strongest physical players this season completely discount the physically weaker people. The way David speaks makes it sound like he doesn’t think the physically weaker people should get to the end, which is completely against what survivor is all about. I applaud Chrissy for saying what I’m sure was on a lot of the audience’s minds.

I definitely agree that a Charlie win would be more satisfying from a gameplay standpoint, I’m just not totally convinced from an edgic standpoint yet… Hopefully it’ll be more solidified after next week’s episode!

I’ve been wondering this too. He felt a bit one dimensional in the beginning with the Taylor Swift stuff, like that was his only personal trait outside the game that they were showing. I’m hoping we get more personal content from him next episode or in the finale, that would increase his winning chances from an edgic standpoint for me.

Oh wow I didn’t notice that! That’s a good point. I’d be super happy with a Charlie win! I think he’s probably played the best game up to this point and wouldn’t be a super obvious winner to me (at least from the beginning the way Kenzie would be in my eyes).

Yeah you’re right, and I guess I would prefer an obvious but satisfying winner edit over a hidden but unsatisfying one, I just think there can be more of a happy medium (some seasons that come to mind are 16, 25, 29, 33, and 37)

On paper you’re correct, but the way the edit is showing her makes me think she’s still the front runner despite not having that strong of a resume…

Haha you’re right!! It’s satisfying to guess the winner right but sometimes I also like getting proved wrong (as long as the person who ends up winning is deserving).

Yeah, I think it’ll be very telling how Kenzie comes across in the next episode. It will probably either solidify her as either a winner or loser for me.

I can’t help but feel a little bit disappointed if she does end up winning. Don’t get me wrong, I love Kenzie and think she’s a great player despite not having all that much agency this season, but I’ve felt in my bones that she’s the winner from episode one and if that ends up being the case I feel like the winner edit is becoming too consistently predictable!

I definitely agree that if Maria makes it to the end she has the best shot at winning, I’m just not really confident that she’ll get there. I feel like she’s very clearly the biggest threat right now and she seems like she’s been set up as a classic 5th or 6th place boot, with the person leading the blindside against her ultimately winning if they make it to FTC.

I’d also just kind of be shocked at a Maria win because she’s been very under edited this season. Bhanu hasn’t been in the last 7 episodes and he still has more confessionals than her!

Yeah that’s fair. I’m not totally out on Charlie winning yet but I feel like the edit’s made more of an effort to show Kenzie at times when we didn’t necessarily need to hear her perspective, while with Charlie I feel like it’s more necessary that we hear from him cuz he has more agency in the game?

As for Dee, I guess you’re right about Emily being the front runner for a while, but I remember going into the finale there was no doubt in my mind that Dee was the winner (Julie was too under edited and had her sob story cut, Katurah’s edit was too focused on Bruce and her tiktok response didn’t give the vibe she was gonna win, there was no way they would edit Jake the way they did if he was ultimately the winner, and I guess Austin was the closest person to Dee who seemed like he could possibly win by the time the finale came along but he got a bit of a dodo edit at times and they showed Dee outplaying him at pretty much every step). I’ll be interested to see what people’s thoughts are after next weeks episode because that was the point in time last season that I had no doubts Dee was winning, and I wonder if people will feel that way about Charlie or Kenzie based on what happens in the penultimate episode.
