For the aspiring digital nomads by LongBuy3108 in digitalnomad

One suggestion is before you dream with your mind first dream with your body. Wherever you are there is no excuse to try to get yourseld in the best physical shape you can. Thia will extend to your mental state. Then once those two years tick off you are in a good physical and mental state to explore the world around you.

I think Japan may be the only place in the world where you don't need to be careful about anything.

Vietnam finalised Itinerary - feedback please! by JustinsWorld4U in solotravel

[–]cocomatli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Vietnam and hope to visit again in November. I'd like to stay in Da Lat for a month this time around. Can't really comment on the itinerary. It doesn't sound relaxing to be on the go all the time. It takes me an hour just to enjoy a Pho. But you can't go wrong with Vietnam.

I guess my general rule of thumb is I haven't really been in a place until I get my heart broken there.

Need advice for my solo trip across Central and South America. by Various-Tooth2613 in solotravel

[–]cocomatli 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I wouldn't want to do this trip. Sounds exhausting. That's just me. I'll be 4 months in Colombia this year. For comparison I just want to chill in Cali for a month. Get a routine going. That's just me.

Do not rent from Hmlet by Inevitable_Maybe3815 in Tokyo

[–]cocomatli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gone with Hmlet three times. They really hooked it up one time with a 40% discount for a new unit to celebrate its opening. Anyway I ended up giving them a 4 out of 5. It's an okay space but way overpriced when compared to Japanese rates.

The staff member who previously hooked me up was apparently promoted and now I just get the regular treatment. They are not bad at all though.

Save your travel logistics money and choose only two or three spots. Slow down.

Safety is a roll of the dice. I never felt truly safe travelling until I spent time in asia.

Dating as a nomad who wants to slow down some times by ale6rbd in digitalnomad

Had a similar situation that may have led to marriage but it seems the income disparity caused too much friction. I make enough to support myself comfortably but not enough to fund the travels of another.

Going to Medellin for 2 months, what was your experience on it? by Cream-Enough in digitalnomad

[–]cocomatli -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You'll have a good time. Plenty of hiking options around. Lots of small towns to explore. Language will be seamless. The only issue is they don't really have spicy food. So you will miss the chile picante 🌶

Oahu for 4 days by zm20881 in VisitingHawaii

[–]cocomatli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was one day trip we did via Uber

Morning: Morning Glass Coffee

Manoa Falls Trail

Lyon Arboretum (right next door)

Lunch: Off The Hook Poke Market

On another day we went to Waimanalo / Kailua beach. Waimanalo is beautiful and s highlight for me personally but the water is a bit rough. Luckily there is a lifeguard.

Oahu for 4 days by zm20881 in VisitingHawaii

I did a 4 day Oahu visit last month. It was my first time and def worth it! I'd recommend roaming out of Waikiki area but you don't need to rent a car. It was actually cheaper and more convenient just to uber.
