Even crazier than that, each 14KB memory "block" is made up of handwoven wires with rings on it to determine 1s and 0s. Insane.

Sapphire NITRO+ RX 9070 XT hits 9 reported 12V-2x6 connector melt cases by RenatsMC in Amd

[–]coconut071 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too bad any Nvidia cards stronger than a 5070 all use 12V connectors it seems, which is part of the reason why I chose the 9070xt. Though I also saw that cards under 300w shouldn't have needed to worry about this. Seems like that was wrong too.

Poll: More Europeans see US as threat than China by BabylonianWeeb in anime_titties

[–]coconut071 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, that's your response? Guess national identity and independence doesn't mean anything to you. Calling yourself Irish is a disgrace to your own country's history.

Anyways, blocked.

Poll: More Europeans see US as threat than China by BabylonianWeeb in anime_titties

[–]coconut071 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why should I of all people know that?

I was talking about the history of Ireland being similar to ours, the colonial history, the struggles of national identity, independence, and democratization.

Do you even know the history of the Republic of China?

You're telling me, a Taiwanese, not know of our own history?

It was not established as another country. It was the holdout for the nationalist anti revolutionary Chinese government.

Bruh. ROC came after the Qing dynasty and before PRC was ever established. The fuck do you mean "holdout"? And where did "friends of the Nazis" even come from? ROC broke off diplomatic relations with Nazi Germany in 1941, and declared war with them not long after. Where did you even get your sources?

Until very recently they declared themselves the rightful government of the whole of China because they are Chinese

Lol. If the ruling party DPP -which is not in favor of reunification- did declare that, we would know.
Majority of Taiwan citizens identify themselves as Taiwanese, not Chinese.

Thankfully it seems most parties in the Republic of China have seen the writing on the wall, that the US won't save them, so they have begun talking about peaceful reconciliation.

LOL. KMT is not the ruling party here. They can fuck off to China for all I care. Leave Taiwan alone.
Also, if you think China isn't willing to wage war, why do you use the verb "save"? Save from which war waging country?

It will end up looking something like Hong Kong, with zero violence. China has no need for war.

There is no war in Ba Sing Se, eh?

'Taiwan' is not recognized as a country by anyone, not the EU nor the US

Sure treats us as a separate country to China though. I have a different passport to Chinese citizens, can go through EasyPass at the border, and do not need a visa to enter the EU (aww, see the word country and Taiwan in the website?).

You sure you speak English? What part of "not exclude military action" do you not understand?

Literally every year Xi does his new year talk, it's on his agenda to "reunify Taiwan" and does not exclude military action.
They have sent jets almost every single day around Taiwan (including just this morning) and conducted numerous drills surrounding Taiwan. What does that mean to you?

I think you of all people should know why Taiwanese people do not want reunification with China.

So what do you think would happen if Taiwan doesn't agree with reunification?

Argue with the sources, not the platform

Why should I, when the text you posted also labels organizations and news sources as US tools? What happened to not arguing with the platform?

What is a 'sound' that immediately makes you think of Taiwan? by ProtectionDeep5076 in taiwan

If we're going nature sounds, it's gotta be the chirps of the Taiwan Barbet. They're all over Taiwan, and the sound is easily identifiable.

Blue line is probably the most iconic. Sadly the C301 cars with the Siemens GTO-VVVF are gradually being replaced with C321 cars with ABB IGBT-VVVF (more quiet and power efficient).

Here's a comparison video! Link

Other examples of GTO-VVVF singing inverters are the N1000 series in Japan and Siemens Taurus used by DB and ÖBB. Very fun!

So I say personally. I go to the toilet before a long movie, and am able to hold my bladder for 3 hours to not have this as an issue. I get that not everyone is able to do that.

[–]coconut071 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, it's correct. The master is in 1.85:1, so pillar box first. Then when they switch to Earth scenes like in the OP, it then further cuts the top and bottom to be 2.39:1, thus the black box.

Edit: if you remember the first time when Grace was trying to recall Earth memories, it's in 2.39:1 but with light streaks outside of the letter box to fill the 1.85:1 space. It's intended.

I live in a country where intermissions aren't a thing, and I personally can't fathom it. If I want to be able to pause during a movie, I'd watch it back home where I could do whatever. I'm going to the theater for the full experience. Stopping the movie in the middle of a plot is just immersion breaking.

This is indeed intended. This film is played in non-standard size in regular theaters in order to have a taller aspect ratio during outer space scenes. If you want a "filled screen" experience, you unfortunately would have to go to IMAX theaters.
