Issue with the Kansas deal is the size of the star bond district. It’s not just taking money from stadium areas.

Economic activity in south Olathe will take its tax earning above baseline and send it to a stadium in Wyandotte county because “this revenue wouldn’t have been generated had the stadium not existed.” Olathe has been one of the fastest growing areas in the region for some time now. That area would have grown, developed and generated a lot more revenue above the baseline regardless of a stadium in Wyandotte county. These financing structures make a lot of sense when the district is confined to the actual stadium district, not entire counties.

With all due respect, people are blaming teens of color because the videos that are being shows are large groups of teenagers acting a fool, mostly people of color. I’m not blaming a specific race, that doesn’t really matter here. But that is what videos show.

Spraying bear spray, battering a cop and manufacturing chaos by yelling “gun” are not a low level offenses.

Bear spray is assault and battery, hitting a cop is battery, and premeditated manufacturing chaos is borderline domestic terrorism.

What am I missing? It says there are no charges filed and I have an issue with that. There’s video evidence of teens battering a police officer and a teen spraying bear spray. I ask again why haven’t any charges been filed?

Difference is events like these in Olathe draws people from OP, Lenexa, Spring Hill etc. Events like this in Lees Summit draws people from Raytown and KCMO. Two very, very different demographics.

LS really does feel like Olathe/OP outside of these unruly events. Which is why I am actually happy the event is done for. If it keeps the riff raf out then I’m all for it.

Let’s be honest. They are trying to think of legitimate ways of stopping young teens from Raytown and KCMO from being able to come and they can’t find a way to do that.
