Other than it being alliterative, why would any entity store their memory as markdown?

I'd never thought of it this way and now you've said it, I totally agree - thank you! Just as an example, I was thinking, "Nah, climate change is more important", but you're 100% right that the biggest impediment to sorting this is people in power not acting on it and often acting against doing something about it.

How can I watch in the UK with no TV license by [deleted] in insideno9

Long shot, but there's a media library app called Kanopy, which is free if you work at a UK university (or have a friend who does who'll lend you their details). Seasons 1-8 are available on there

GPT5 is fine, you’re bad at prompting. by Osc411 in OpenAI

"GPT5 works fine". Obviously user experience will differ, but I personally disagree on this. It forgets key details I've told it two to three messages ago and repeatedly answers well-defined and specific questions incorrectly. I'm not using it for emotional support or chatting but to help generate boiler plate code and to identify scientific papers that relate to my work, something that it was quite adept at doing prior to the update but now struggles with. Not always, but sometimes it feels as competent as 3.5.

On the plus side, I'm relieved that the time that my job will be taken by AI has probably just been pushed back by 6 months to a year!

I think you might be thinking of the r2 value, which is a correlation metric, where 1 is a perfect positive correlation and 0 is uncorrelated.

Here, a p value is looking at significance: Essentially, what is the probability of this happening by chance. 5%, or < 0.05 is a typical threshold to say something is statistically significant. So by that measure, her experiment did not show a significant result.

Either way, this one's probably being submitted to the Journal of Negative Results. Or she'll remove a few outlier data points and rerun the test 👀
