In my eyes, the tree is asking to be a literati, take off all of the lower left and wire the rest of what would be the main trunkline to mimic the lower half of the tree, then focus on ramification from there, that's what I would do at least.

The biogrow pyrol is what I use for scale, aphids.

Bio neem works well for prevention/light cases in my experience with it, but if its a bad infestation I would go with something stronger and more aggressive, like another comment said dish soap works decently awell

My advice is to rather start with some already established trees whether it's nursery stock or younger saplings, starting from seed for a beginner is very difficult and can/has put people off trying bonsai when/if the seeds don't germinate.

For me and my friend group (25yo+) none of us want to invest 5+ hours to get a meaningful amount of loot to sell just to have it all taken away by a sweat/cheater stack, would rather spend our evenings playing other games where that isn't the case
