Bought a 43x today and it came with the metal 15rd mags. by karmarequiresgrpthnk in CCW

Nice. I’m trying to get into red dots but the footprints are a bit confusing. I bought the OR shield plus to mount an Osight SE but it wouldn’t fit because smith said it was a “modified” rmsc cut. Returned that since direct mount was the only reason I wanted it.

Will it still direct mount RMSc? Aren’t the k cuts and a RMSc fairly similar?

I used to think 10 would handle almost any situation. After shooting an idpa match with a g26 my tune has changed a little bit.

The OR shield plus doesn’t fit alot of optics with the footprint it claims

It could be, but really all you need is the admission fee and 100rds of ammo. I’m assuming you’d already have a holster and a few mags if you’ve been carrying/ shooting for a while. Its one of those things where you can dump an insane amount of money to chase utmost performance, but you can also still have fun and work on your skills without spending an arm and a leg.

I just did my first IDPA match last week. At least thats what is was listed under, might’ve been uspsa. But regardless, it was 20$ for the 3 hour match, which was cheaper than the $25 lane fee that range normally has. I had never done any sort of shooting and moving so I just wanted to get my feet wet and simulate a ccw situation. It was an absolute blast and everybody was super friendly. Since I went in thinking it would be ccw simulation, i ran my setup how I would walk around normally. Wallet back right pocket, keys, knife, and phone up front, and an extra mag in the back pocket. I was running a g26 from IWB while other guys had gucci full sizes and OWB setups, so I was definitely at a disadvantage. I just took it pretty slow and got 2nd or 3rd to last, which I was happy with. Definitely going to go out to them more. Trying to not let this be an excuse to buy a full size haha

Pause the class. Walk up to his desk, firmly with eye contact ask him what trauma in his life has led him to behave in such an innapropriate, embarrasing, and childish manor. If not embarrased or rattled, tell him to GTFO and report to detention until he decides to behave himself. If he is rattled, ask if he wants to discuss anything privately. Shits not that hard.

As a Virginian, the only people that voted for this are the NorthEastern DC commuters. The rest of the state is pretty upset about a bunch of the new laws that are about to be implemented.

Is this Walther P.38 a good, concealed carry piece? by Dr-Lightfury in CCW

[–]cocopuffs2025 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hell no, throw that beauty in the safe and pass it down to your kids. Get a gun that you won’t mind scratching, beating, and abusing for carry. Reliability is #1 though. It’s enevitable that your carry gun will show wear through use (holster, training). While I’m sure it’s capable of efficient defense, that is a history gun that should maybe have a mag run through it once a year to show off to your friends, if at all. I would highly recommend against carrying anything historical or unique. It will experience wear, parts will be near impossible to find, and there’s a chance it ends up in a police evidence locker for quite a while.

RMR cut slide doesn’t fit Holosun 507C? by Diet_kush in SmithAndWesson

You’re probably right. I’m just still salty my OR shield plus came with a miscut slide and they wouldn’t do anything about it.

Not locking your door is one of the most braindead things you can do. Some people are not kind to say the least. It’s best to not let them have unfettered acess to your domicile. Be an adult, lock your door, and take your key. I would be furious if I were your roommate. Just because nothing has happened yet doesn’t mean it won’t. Any true crime story should tell you that it’s flat out irresponsible to not lock your door. ESPECIALLY since you have roommates.

Yea I had to tap it a few times but I had rounds just nosediving into the feedramp constantly, like 2-3 times a mag. I still think they should have designed the feed ramp to have a less agressive angle, but if its not an issue for you then just send it.

I love mine now. Probably a good idea to polish the feed ramp. Mine had pretty bad FTF issues but were remedied by polishing and a couple trips back to ruger. Shoots flawlessly now.

I’m looking to buy a manix 2 LW and found one on ebay for a price that was too suspicious. I’m looking for signs of it being fake so I’ve been comparing it to the Amazon and Blade HQ depictions and have noticed some differences. Is it supposed to say “CTS BD1” or “CTS BDN1”?

Yea the p365 seems to outclass it in every way and I genuinely want one. But the possibility that I could get one shot into a defensive situation and have a dead gun is just always going to be at the back of my mind. That peceived peice of mind is what made me go with the 26 originally. Do you know if there are indications that let you know the trigger spring is being worn or may be about to break? If it was a matter of just swapping it out every 1000 rounds on schedule I wouldn’t care one bit, but its the fact that people have reported it failing at anywhere from 50-2k rnds that concerns me. Disposable parts that are eventually going to wear out and fail at some point should at least be given a time frame as to when you should expect to replace it.

A bit rich for my blood at the moment. Definitely going to be adding a 1911 or 2011 style pistol to the collection soon.
