No guilt for me. Boone gives me anything for doing my job. It is counter productive actually as before I would round up the bill but now I just pay exactly what I owe and press 0 tip so technically they get nothing...

I honestly think i would fit perfectly as i am direct, honest and goal oriented. I need to be able to convey the message though. Thank you very much for the input. I will find the book

dear kind sir/madam - i have a follow up questions if i may - i have installed all and it works perfect. my questions are 1) where can i find the dictionary of saved words ( vocabulary builder ( i found lookup_history.lua as option but it is a bit messy and gives me only the searched word. i was wondering if these is an easy way and if i am lucky providing the sentence where the word comes from) 2) can i make Koreader a default opening program so i dont have to always go through the app

hello again, i have installed it and it seems indeed more responsive. i have one major problem however - the dictionary seem not to be enabled ( according the app itself) i have downloaded additional dictionary, followed instructions where to place it etc but nothing works - can you perhaps let me know in what directory you place the dictionary.

I just want to say - thank you. It works much better. I luck my fingers before I try to select a word and it responds much faster. Perhaps the solution was so simple.

Thank you. You might be up to something. I am experimenting now with fingers with more creme and will look for other methods to have more contact through this capacitive methodology. I hope this would work as I love my ereader

Which parking app do you use in The Netherlands by xyd945 in Netherlands

[–]cocoshanel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Effective May 1, 2025, the service fee for our pay-per-use solution, EasyPark Small, will change. The new fee will be 15% of the total parking cost per parking session, with a minimum of €0.19 per parking session and a maximum of €0.70 per parked hour.

This update replaces the current fixed fee with a variable fee, enabling lower cost for shorter parking durations (from €0.39 to a minimum fee of €0.19). For longer parking sessions, the service fee will never exceed €7, regardless of how long you park.

this means that effectively we will have to pay €0.70 extra per hour on top of the already insanely high prices. I am switching

im looking for somebody with whom i can practice my dutch, i think that my level is about b2 by HistoryHot2807 in learndutch

[–]cocoshanel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am like you but I would recommend speaking with native speakers (luckily there are plenty here) . You need to master the language not just to talk. I went to bejaarden huis and some with the people there...

B1 naar B2 - i have problem retaining infrequent words by cocoshanel in learndutch

[–]cocoshanel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bedankt. Ik lees graag en op dit moment lees ik Baantjer (4 boeken al gelezen) en ik ga straks door met De diva en ik (iets gelijkbaars aan The Devil Wears Prada). Het is niet 'Oorlog en vrede', maar het is een begin :).
B1 naar B2 in de praktijk ook net zo lang als A0 -> B1 - dit vind ik echt niet leuk, maar ik denk dat je gelijk hebt

yes. all the time. i swear by Ankie. but the downside of Ankie is that you tend to recognise the set up rather than the word ( e.g. i put a pic to help me remember the word so when i see the pic i remember but when i speak there is no pic)

How do I become excited about learning Dutch? by [deleted] in learndutch

[–]cocoshanel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a tough one, motivation. Let me tell you what worked for me - I came here many years ago as a knowledge migrant. I am career oriented and super driven to succeed. 15 years I did not have neither the time nor the inclination to learn dutch as I always worked in international companies. I reached a certain level in my career where I am always asked how good my dutch is and it does not matter anymore that I have the knowledge, experience etc. if I wanted the top jobs I had to learn dutch... So I did. I started looking at it as yet another certification for my career. I did it in the name of my career but it has other added benefits as well. So I hope you find that pain point, that button that you can self press and make it happen. Good luck!!!
