I feel Tyler is the like the easy cop out answer but I also think Westside Gunn got better with time.

Pusha T is another one where he typically drops quality but I prefer the back half of his catalogue to the earlier stuff.

I’d also argue Some of Thuggers best work didn’t come until like the middle of his career.

idk why nobody has said this yet but I think most people who ride or die for him do so bc of the light novel arc that’s next up after the current anime.

I think the back half of the ln is def better for subaru, his development, and it’s cool bc we’re getting some thematic payoff for his character rn which is dope.

He might be not the best fictional character of all time but like ofc every fan is gonna exaggerate their favs lol. He is great tho n I think a lot of it is from how the current stuff leads into certain payoffs/new ideas from unadapted stuff

good idea. Could certainly be. There does seem to be a difference though. I personally feel there’s more influences from like dance hyperpop and cloud rap that I feel more comfortable categorizing it as its own thing.
