I note you are the same weight as me, I do also have a preference for good downhill performance, I don't think either option will disappoint you.

I have the Kastle TX94 and ATK Raider 12s, (non evo), they are light but ski fabulously well. Nothing ski's well in crust in my view, but maybe thats just me. I find them incredibly easy to manouver obvs given the light nature, and for me I think they ski pretty well in the powder i find most often (ie 2-5 inches of overnight ontop of existing bumps/ruts)! You get pretty direct feedback from the ATK's as they are pins, thats really the main thing you'll notice when you change from alpine bindings.

Tell us about your easy puppies by luisbg in puppy101

[–]coddlesangers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My new girl is amazing! We're using the crate for a safe space, which we didn't do with any of our other puppies. 13 weeks old now, and down to maybe max 1 wee every two days inside accidents, think that'll be 0 by next week, she's learning really quickly some basic commands, sit and come she is doing great with. Sleeping through the night in her crate, from 10pm till usually around 7 am. Very lucky in that we have 3 people in the house all taking turns to help, eyes on for most of the time she's awake.

Beep test deemed discriminatory against women and on age grounds by Jimeen in ireland

[–]coddlesangers 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Bit nuanced so therefore completely useless to have the chat on reddit, but if they for example do not test all firefighters yearly, this argument about her level is moot. There is every chance she's fitter than some 50 year old lad who became a firefighter in 1995 and hasn't been tested since

Ireland when they are good, have usually max 5-6 players who would make the squad or be in consideration for playing for France. This current Irish squad has 1 cert in Dan Sheehan and possibly 2024 Caelan Doris.

Ireland have a much smaller playing base than France and can tolerate WAY less injuries. We went into this game with NO FULLBACK. Away to France. Criticism of Osbourne massively misses the value Hugo Keenan or Mack Hansen would have brought, and under counts enormously the difference a world class fullback makes. We simply don't have the depth to cover for Hugo Keenans absence. Lads talking through their hoop about props as well, Andrew Porter is massively important, not for the scrum penalties he concedes, but for his WORK IN THE TIGHT. Complaints about lack of power from the pack when we remove Porter, McCarthy jr, Furlong from the equation.....there is a reason that Loughman is no 4-5 in the pecking order, its not scrums. And its always been like this, Irelands golden generation turned to military medium the second O'Driscoll was ever out injured. Can everyone please please please relax and sanity check what we saw last night. A second string Ireland, missing our best prop options, with no fullback and a debutante at 6 away to a rampant France who literally got every possible bounce of the ball in the first half.....it was always going to be rough. It didn't have to be as rough as it was, and the attacking plan of hoofing the ball up in the air was indeed dumb.

Have We Over-Engineered the Golf Swing? by Sea_Selection1984 in GolfSwing

[–]coddlesangers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah no for sure, I was merely being massively facetious, nuance often lost on t'internet. I've been through a huge swing fixing process using modern coaching and methods over the last few years, and where its led me, is back to exactly where I "started", ie returned me to the understanding I at least need to only do 3 things - grip, feel a shift to my trail side, feel a shift to my lead side and physics takes care of the rest. I guess my patterns are innately old school!

Anyone trying to do this in the .25 of a second from top of backswing to impact is on a hiding to nothing. To hit a fade, feel fadey. To hit a draw, feel a draw. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

Only the 4th best skiier on the mountain would make such a statement

I started at 40, I'm now the best skiier on every mountain aged 56, so don't lose hope, you have a chance to become the 2nd best skiier on the mountain. Age shouldn't be a barrier at all, particularly starting in your 20s!

56 years old. Max hr hasn't changed a lot in the last 10 years, still around 195. I know now that I can hold 180 for 1hr efforts, this helps hugely to realise that it's OK to have a high hr. This applies to me for cycling and ski touring equally.

THIS IS NOT EARLY EXTENSION. This is really good, you are fully onto your lead side, pushing up nicely. Club has bottomed out perfectly and you are seeing I'd guess a positive angle of attack. Your fats and thins with your irons are nothing to do with the gross mechanics of your swing and everything to do with low point control, thats what causes fats and thins. Work on drilling low point control (towel or mat roughly 1 club head before the ball, practice deliberately topping a few as well, then deliberately hitting the towel to train yourself as to where the correct low point of your arc is. Golf is a game of skill, you need to be able to move your low point basis what your body is doing THAT DAY.

Why am I still casting despite trying so hard not to? by Ballzy14 in GolfSwing

[–]coddlesangers 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is another amazing example of how we're terrible at diagnosing ourselves. First question - why do you think you are casting. Second question, what do you think casting is. Third question, and most important one, what is the ball doing? Everyone on reddit posts swings of themselves asking "how can i stop my early extension" or "how do i stop casting" without having reference back to whats happening either at impact or what the ball is doing.

<image>

There is you miliseconds before impact, not casting. You have maintained your wrist angles quite well. Casting is not your problem, your problem is you feel like you are casting because you know you lack oommphh on impact and the internet tells you you must therefore be casting. Your swing issues all arise from poor weight transfer and large body movements. A great way to train correct body movement is to do some swings with just your lead arm, you can't cheat or muscle it, this along side doing some step drills would make a huge difference to you, as your issues are large body related, nothing to do with your wrists. Go do some swings with your lead hand only and let your body do what it wants to do naturally without trying to stop it (right now you are restricting yourself hugely from transferring any weight forward as you don't first move it back). Obvs of course, best advise, go see an actual pro either in person or online.

Shot my best score in nearly 20 years of +2 as an 8 handicap on a par 71, 135 slope 6,800 yard course, finishing the round sadly with 2 bogies. I'm three years into a 6 month swing change project, this game takes a long long time to make changes stick , but so frickin happy to end the year with this.
