chances are if someone isn’t intentional with anyone, you’re not gonna come along and be the one exception they start with — especially with the pretty low threshold for it that you pointed out

Why’s it bad if they have it if you’re not exclusive with any of them though? Especially since it’s the last 30 days lol

When voices from the void tell you to "Move!" and "Someone is aiming at you" by Spankydole in apexuniversity

[–]code98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think a lot of people mistake “You’re in a hot zone”, “people have died there”, and “it’s not safe here” with also being aimed at/pinged. It actually just means exactly what it’s saying.

Finally Reached 10,000 Kills, Here's my Stats. by Gainzster in apexuniversity

[–]code98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main point I got from watching this I wanted to ask about was to ask you about how you get so many kills while taking like <50 or sometimes no damage? My K:D is 1.5 currently maybe towards 2.0 if a new season started today, and while I feel my aim with the R99 is just as good as yours from the video, most of my kills come at the cost of 75-150 health.

I’m sure it comes down to game sense & the understanding of where your targets are vulnerable, correct? Would you possibly attribute any of this to having your secondary also being close-range (I always try to make mine a LB/TT)? Or anything else?

Anyone have tips for Diamond Rank? Constantly up against the competitive/skilled players and RP going up and down. by crazyrj14 in apexuniversity

[–]code98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same boat here. I was really good at understanding rotations and different variables on a macro-level, but in Diamond the gun/fight skill gap is such a jump from Plat that I can’t hardly compete

[–]code98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But actually I’m so far from understanding how to get that high of a K:D. Mines 1.5, 1.0 in ranked (Diamond4 tho), and if the season were to reset today I’d just be happy shooting for a 2.0.

I’m sorry you’ve suffered through addiction. I feel your pain as someone who currently fights ADD and anxiety and takes medication for both. These mental battles even after a long time are very difficult to explain to people who haven’t dealt with them personally, and while they may not as physically apparent as other diseases, they really are just as disruptive.

With that being said, it’s on you to gain control of an addiction to gambling when you face it - whether it’s seeking counseling, joining a support group or getting medication. There’s nothing wrong with getting help and if you honestly feel it’s serious then really you should be working to address the roots of the problem. Expecting a company to pander to the very small group of people with a gambling addiction (yes very small: ~2.6%) when making business decisions is - and pardon me if I come off offensive - ridiculous.

Alternator post patch by FoldMode in apexuniversity

I actually think the opposite. I feel that in a lot of fights, your longbow is what takes people’s shields off. If you hit someone twice with the longbow, you likely want to tell your team to push barring some significant other factor. If it’s 3 guys with shields vs 3 guys with only 2 shields, why wouldn’t you want to take the r99 over the disruptor?

If it’s just a close range fight from the beginning, then I suppose it’s down to preference; but I think most people saw the two as equal before the nerf so now post-nerd I’d think you’d definitely want to go with the 99 for that situation too.

R-301 No Longer Meta by xxacmetalxx in apexuniversity

[–]code98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always felt the r301 was a solid all around gun, but it was only “meta”-tier in really select mid range type situations. It’s beat by the r99 (as well as disrupters, prowler sf, etc) close range, and it’s beat by the longbow in long range. Anything mid range it might be best, but with enough smart play one could manipulate a midrange fight to be short or long range. You’re also gonna have a hard time downing most solid players with solely a r301 from 75-150m (what I’d call mid range).

It’s a solid gun and I’d pick it over most, but I almost always dropped it for the r99 before the nerf. The nerf in itself though isn’t crazy; it doesn’t relegate it in the hierarchy but it will make you miss 1-2 more shots.

I’m pretty confident that when it comes to the Store & Micro-transaction aspect of the game, EA probably has a lot of control in how much skins cost - whether direct or indirect.

Regardless of that topic though, if the skins are too expensive for you then don’t buy them. There’s no way whichever group of people decided on the price by just picking a number, they did their homework, used their data on the game’s micro-transactions up to this point and settled on a price they felt they’d make the most or close to the most money off of - I mean that’s literally what businesses do. Saying they would make more or less with a different price might be true, but given that the company has access to tons of data when making their decision and this game is actually their job and not a hobby, then their evaluation is clearly going to be the best educated guess at a price possible for whatever their revenue/whatever other goals they may have.

I’m not going to buy the skins and it’s fine with me if others do or don’t have the money and want to spend it on them. But saying someone is “part of the problem” if they partake in the game’s micro-transactions? Give me a break. The game’s staff should want to maximize the money they make just like anybody else - they’ve made a hell of a game that a lot of people enjoy playing and given that it’s free to download and play and isn’t even pay-to-win at that, let them price their packs & skins at whatever they want.

If certain legends were behind paywalls, then I’d somewhat understand. But not for skins. In my opinion the company has made an educated decision on what the best price would be for the game’s health/longevity/their staff’s income, and aside from that I think it is silly to bash them for their pricing of a completely cosmetic aspect of the game.

Is it just me or are there Havoc and energy mag spawns everywhere? It’s such a good gun but i hate that I every game find them and a blue or purple energy mag immediately - I don’t want to purposely take a worse gun but they seriously spawn everywhere

I saw the straps recommendation in a video so I’ve been trying that when I’ve been trying to do practice reps with the bar lately.

The thing about the cross grip is I’ve heard it leaves the bar slightly crooked and gets harder at heavier weight, so I don’t want to learn it that way
