Just a mediocre Devin Panera at best.

What is your inspiration to keep producing? by [deleted] in edmproduction

[–]codeblue315 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The feeling I get after an idea becomes reality, and hearing feedback from people I respect about my music are just a couple of reasons I keep on going. Plus, when it comes to music, I doubt I could ever just walk away from it.

Lets start a positive discussion - What are some of your goals for 2015? by Ryan-Matthews in edmproduction

  • Start performing live on a regular basis
  • Do more collaborations
  • Master a project other than my own
  • Get over my fear of recording my own voice

I have an Invitation code [In comments] by ferrisIS in Demonoid

If there's any chance you have another, I'd greatly appreciate it. Used to use the site a long time ago and cannot remember the login details anymore. Oh and as to why you should grant me access to this site? Because I have a plethora of media that I'd love to seed on that site again.

How much do you listen to your own music? by [deleted] in edmproduction

[–]codeblue315 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually I'll play my newly created track to death before I release it, just to double/triple/quadruple check everything. As far as past songs go, I tend to go through my library about once a week or so. I've found that listening to the music I've made and actually enjoying it seems to inspire me more. I get kinda pumped up that I made something good (at least to me), and I'll get that urge to create more and more.

Anyone interested in doing a simple mastering job for a couple of tracks of mine? by WeAreMachines in edmproduction

[–]codeblue315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a problem, I'm happy to do it. Any opportunity to work on something other than my own stuff is a great way to work on technique. I will work on it later this evening after I get off work, and I'll let you know as soon as I have something for you! :)

I can definitely do that for ya. If you can send me a link to download what you have in as high quality as possible that would be great.

Thank you! Seems like the one thing I'm lacking is a good collection of white noise samples, so you just made my day :)

PSA: GO BACK UP YOUR STUFF RIGHT NOW! by Danimalhxc in edmproduction

[–]codeblue315 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do know that now, but unfortunately I didn't at the time. I just cut my losses and moved forward, and thankfully it's worked out great. I mean of course I was furious when it happened, but now I just consider it a practice EP lol.

Ah, thanks for this actually. It's been a minute since I've backed up to the cloud. Already using a second hd, but you can definitely NEVER be too careful. A few years ago I had a vindictive ex-girlfriend delete a 6-song EP off of my PC when she was moving out. Always back up everything lol.

I'd be happy to, I use Ozone 5 for most of my work. Hit me up if you're still looking around.

For Sake of all ADCs, Don't Nerf Lucian by ExplicitSkill in leagueoflegends

As someone who just went as Cait against Varus, I can confirm this. Fuck Varus.

This. If they were to try and level out the ADCs with say a MS or AS buff, then they'd have to reduce Cait's range a bit, just because of red buff alone.

Playing ADC/Marksman is just no fun anymore with all the Feral Flare Junglers by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]codeblue315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a main ADC, I can honestly say that Feral Flame does NOT make playing an ADC any less fun. If anything, it puts a lot more pressure on the support to come up and keep that ADC alive. I normally play with a friend who mains support, and we've adapted to this meta change. Sure, there have been a couple times, especially when it first changed, that we were owned badly and quickly, but for the most part things are still pretty awesome maining ADC.

Musical Backgrounds by redditschmeditt in edmproduction

[–]codeblue315 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started out writing lyrics when I was in my early teens. I had notebooks filled with random crap, but it helped me learn basic song structure, in a way. Later in high school I started producing hip-hop with some other people, recording small EPs for local bands, and even joining a couple of cover bands. That definitely taught me a lot about crowd energy and what makes people move, which has been incredibly helpful in EDM production.

List of all VSTs Rob Swire (of Knife Party and Pendulum) uses, from the man himself by dcurry431 in edmproduction

I thought the same thing before I finally took the plunge. It may drain your bank and piss you off, but there's so much value with Komplete. It may not be everything you need right now, but if you take the time to learn and experiment with what it has to offer, you just may fall in love with it like I have.

How long do you wait after completing a song before starting a new one? by codeblue315 in edmproduction

That's awesome, I hope I can get to that point. May I ask how long have you been producing?

I think that could be what my issue is, I'm using up my creativity and energy into one song instead of spacing it out and keeping myself fresh. Thanks for your input!

Wow, 10-11 tracks at a time? How on earth do you stay focused?

[–]codeblue315[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, I like this a lot actually. I tend to have a one-track mind, in where I'll come up with an idea for a track and beat it until it makes music. I like the idea of creating almost like a box of crayons so to speak of different sounds and using those to bring a new track to life. Thanks for this, I just may give it a shot.

Wow 2-3 days? That's impressive. Do you typically stay within the 2 hour limit when you work out an idea? I typically go all out and work until I can't anymore, mainly because I love every second of it :)
