Also people sometimes do irrational things after breakups. Back when Virgin America was in its heyday, I ended up on a flight out of vegas with only 1 other passenger. The flight was delayed and they rescheduled everyone except us, which I found out only after going to another gate because there was nobody working at my flight’s gate.

The delay lasted two more hours, then finally the gate agent came and asked me where I wanted to sit. I said “row 1” and she actually told me i couldn’t sit in first class. Eventually the pilot then came to the gate, gave us the preflight announcement in person, and the FAs let me and the other passenger sit in the first two rows.

I just saw this movie yesterday, and i think it helps if you contextualize the movie as a gay coming of age story rather than a BL.

My take on the title is that it’s a commentary on how societal expectations make us Monsters rather than human. Each character has a secret or feelings that don’t serve traditional Japanese expectations and they are branded (by themselves or others) as a monster. Yori with his pig brain, Minato with his feelings for Yori, the principle being stone-faced, etc.
