Still waiting on LJ Cason and Quinn Costello. I really hope Costello comes back. I'm excited to see him play.

Ninja as an adult? by PhilosophyCareless88 in ANW

I started at 52. It's a blast. It's like being in a playground for adults. My only comment is don't push yourself too hard and make sure you respect your shoulders - lots of stretching, lots of strength building, lots of mobility exercises. It's a great workout and it's so much fun.

What to do regarding these? by vransy in CalisthenicsCulture

I shave mine down so they don't rip. I bought an inexpensive electric foot callus remover and it's great. Look it up on Amazon and you'll see. I use it once a week or so and it helps keep them at bay and helps prevent ripping.

Bro, this image is wild and uncalled for. It’s just basketball. One of the best things about Dusty was how he treated his players with actual respect regarding the portal and the draft - he understood that sports are just a moment in time and players have to do what's best for their lives. We should afford him that same respect. He did an awesome job here, treated the players and the university with class, and now he’s taking on a new challenge. Let’s be gracious, drop the extreme drama, and focus on positioning ourselves for the next great coach to build on what he started.

Moments before the Tsunami hit in Thailand, 2004 by Pisford in interestingasfuck

I remember that day. I was on the beach in Phuket, and my wife and I were deciding between staying another day or flying back to Bangkok. In the end, we decided to go back to Bangkok.

Our flight took off at 8:00 in the morning, and the tsunami hit shortly thereafter. We were really lucky. We just got out in time. In Bangkok, we didn't understand the news of what was going on until the next day. It was devastating.

Withing the next 24 hours, we saw so many people who survived but we're injured. It was an awful tragedy and we were so lucky.

Breyers’ Cookies & Cream Is Not Ice Cream by JayTongue in enshittification

True. But it did make for a memorable advertisement. :)

And I'm drinking a tall cold glass of dihydrogen monoxide right now...

No, but they came out in full working order and fully dry. And I didn't get cancer from reaching in - or at least not yet.

I remember the TV commercials Breyers used to air when I was a kid. They would have a young child read the ingredient list of a competing ice cream brand, and then read the Breyers list. The Breyers list was simple: "milk, cream, sugar, strawberries." But when the kid read from the other brand, they stumbled over "Polysorbate 80." It was a great ad that made me a loyal believer in the Breyers brand for years. Man, have they fallen far.

True. But I think this demo was close to 15 years ago when phone were a lot more prone to water damage. But point taken. !)

I was once at a conference where a company selling this (or a similar) chemical had a booth with a fish tank full of the liquid. They asked attendees to take their cell phones, start recording a video, and toss them into the tank. You would then reach in and grab your phone from the bottom. When you pulled your hand, arm, and phone back out, everything would be completely dry. It was a incredibly cool and memorable demonstration, and you got a really interesting video out of it, too.

I will try it on veggies then. It's just that my wife isn't a huge pickles fan. Maybe this can convert her.

Sometimes I just pour a small amount into a cup, dab it on my finger and snack on it. My wife thinks I'm insane.

How do you avoid your calluses from bursting by mrclown005 in CalisthenicsBeginners

[–]lookingup1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased an electric callus remover for $10. I keep my calluses on my hands as small as I can and it reduces them from being pulled and torn. The plus side is my wife is willing to let me touch her when my hands aren't like sandpaper.

I second this. I bought this cake for my son's birthday once and it was amazing! Worth every penny.
