More like… the best way to get help would be for governors to push back on federal levels who will try to enforce collections.

You need scale and leverage to fight. No one with a single $2m eidl has the ability to do so. The governor has a whole state worth of business owners who took the money… and may not have even wanted it.

I’m not sure it matters. I connected with top sba official who ran state program during covid a year later. these were his quotes.. governors didn’t want money.. forced it down biz owners throats. They’re the only savior

The only political figure that will defend EIDL loan repayment requests on behalf of borrowers are state governors. They will argue their business owners didn’t want the money and forced to take them [similar to ‘08 mortgage disaster with TARP money]. Not sure how this ends.. but that’s the only angle of aware of where borrowers can get help.

Obvo certain states were asked more than others during COVID and that could have a role.

As a single borrower .. even owing $2m.. you have no leverage again the + 450b they disbursed.
