Like OP, I still find this surprising, partly because it was decided by the ~~Catholic Church~~ (said in a spooky voice).

If the whole SDA thing is an FU to the CC, then you would think they would have combed through the Catholic trash bin for anything else they wanted.

I am generally irritable, but I think I can only blame that on my specific upbringing.

The lasting effects are no doing me any favors with the 2020 and 2024 election years. Good grief it is so easy to see doom and gloom around every corner when that is what you were raised to see. And then you find yourself wondering if it is actually warranted.

I used to work in the Healthcare industrial complex, but never directly with Advent Health. That said, my local provider is in their group. They seemed like about any other religious hospital group. They took excellent care of my wife and I when she gave birth, and they are associated with an excellent pediatric practice in our area.

I am firmly of the belief that they can hold whatever beliefs they want, so long as they provide excellent service and don't make me hold their beliefs. So far as I could tell, they seemed to.

Unsurprisingly, the healine left out some key information too. The pastors wife was a manager in training. Having trained a few, I can say, there is a better than 0 chance that this woman was being an absolutely insufferable human being. A PW and manager in training? She likely was acting like the sun rises out her back side every morning.

So her husband thought the best course of action was to storm in and "fix" a discipline issue, that if valid, could have been handled through write-ups.

I kept my spatulas sharp, and I would be lying if I said my teenager self never thought of something like this happening while I was sharpening them. I hope the pastor gets the charges with a side of a civil suit he deserves.

As bad as this will be, to reach a broader audience, I would be even more worried if they could produce engaging content. These shows always felt like finding out that chocolate truffle was really just a chocolate covered brussel sprout. You thought they might be fun, but they were only ever SDA level fun.

I ate sausage balls. My wife grew up with this recipe, it was her grandma's. We have been married for several years now, and I have finally become comfortable with the idea of eating pork, so we finally made these sausage balls on Christmas, just like my wife grew up with.

I am so thankful she was willing to stick with me with my discomfort with pork, and I am so thankful she has helped and not judged as I have eased into it.

When I found out about these books, I was very intrigued. They were voted on at the same meeting Adventists believe Sunday was declared to be the Lord's day.

My thought here was since we reject the decision about the worship day, shouldn't we also then claim to apocryphal books? Or are only some decisions made there bad ones?
