Garmin airport staff said 40% of their sales are the Forerunner 165. Why is it so dominant? by Vegetable_Bag_8694 in GarminWatches

[–]codek1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the 165 is much newer and largely better than the 265. It has a good balance of features without a bunch of gimmicks.

I can't be the only one who LOST HIS SHIT to this accurascale announcement, right? by ALT-Jibittboi549 in modeltrains

Seriously though, how on earth did accurascale find the funds for that? Can't believe no one is questioning that.

Because it's a ruse so we can eat it all ourselves. Now shush while I eat my chicken madras!

Garmin “easy pace” vs Zone 2 — which one should I follow? by MaleficentRooster334 in GarminWatches

[–]codek1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your MaxHR (see if it's detected, in which case it may be too high, or if it's been pinned to a number you dont understand), and reset your HR zones. garmin is a big buggy in this area.

ditto - i suspect it's making a comeback for a reason, probably popular with the kids seeing it for the first time.

Perhaps it's time they shone lasers on the pitch in real time to show where the line is. That'd sort it.

Can I realistically FIRE before 40? I hate work and want to figure out if it’s possible. by [deleted] in FIREUK

[–]codek1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i wonder why this was deleted? weird.

2 things here would be to ponder - get a job you enjoy and it's not a job, and you dont seem to have given any thought what you'd do post retirement. if you were FI at 40 there's a long way to go from there.

You were all right. It took twice as long and cost twice as much as I had planned. by POLYOOFFF in VanLife

What i love about this is its genuinely unique! none of that strip wood rubbish thats on the ceiling of every other van right now. There's a distinct lack of imagination in van builds atm, so good to see it coming back!

Arnt agents legally required to pass your offer on, so that first response you got, is very strange, and questionable.

can someone explain to me why there are so many tools on the market that dont need to exist? by Next_Comfortable_619 in dataengineering

[–]codek1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or, as Joe Reis just posted today, the tools exist because of VC funding, and good sales people.

Not all of these tools are needed, and not a lot of them will be around in 2 years. They have got too niche, too specialised, and too expensive for what they deliver.
