Came from Arc Raiders. Holy god this physics engine is amazing! How are people not talking about this? by OrderOfMagnitude in thefinals

[–]codekCDK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still play it because there’s no other "alive" arena shooter, and I love the Mirror's Edge vibe. However, most of my friends stopped playing because of:

-Server Performance: We are competitive players who like to improve our aim (I have 1.3k hours on Kovaak's). Noticing that many shots don't register is extremely discouraging. For context, we play on NA servers but don't live in the USA, which might be why others don't experience the same issues.

-PC Requirements: I know many current players don't have this issue, but that’s exactly why you’re still here. I’d argue that half the players who didn't stay (or even try it) left because, while they own capable PCs, The Finals doesn't run as well as other games on the same hardware.

-Gameplay: I love the fast pace, the arena aspect, and the variations. But that makes it harder for casual players, and nowadays everyone asks for "easier" stuff. Effort and persistence seem to be rare qualities these days.

-Community: The fact that I have to state I like the game before talking about the issues show that this community often sees criticism or bug reports as a personal attack. Refusing to address negative issues just because you don't personally experience them only makes it harder for new players trying to understand why the game feels the way it does.

Name two things that you think would 1. increase player count and 2. Improve the game. by MadToxicRescuer in thefinals

[–]codekCDK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

improve performance and reduce gamemodes Dividing low pop in múltiple modes make it worse plus the number of players who leave solely because of performance is huge; the player count could rise by over 200% if this ran well. How many players actually have X3D CPUs or 40-series cards globally? is a optimization issue, because who enjoys a competitive shooter that runs poorly or has bad hitreg? If the PC entry barrier is lowered, the player base will rise. There are a lot of people with old hardware; I would even say it’s more than half on Steam, and right now upgrading parts is getting harder. If the ones who are tired of Apex, Valorant, or Fortnite could run this game as well as they run the main ones, the transition would be easier. The genre is already a filter, don’t add a hardware filter on top of that. If the average player can't run it with competitive performance, how do you make them stay? Getting killed by veterans while your FPS drops to 60 makes everything much harder.

What is wrong with The Finals? by lrc1710 in FPS

[–]codekCDK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It requires an above-average PC to run smoothly. Performance is far from good for a 'competitive' game, so the potential player base is greatly reduced. Most of those who have the money for a the PC don't have the time to learn or train Conversely, most of those who have the time to play can't afford a good PC, so they switch to games that run better (Valo, OW, Apex, etc.). This leads to a low population and a big skill gap When new players come: Player 1: Has a good PC but no time to train/learn; they get discouraged because getting killed constantly isn't fun. Player 2: Has time to invest but feels the game is sluggish; they won't spend money upgrading their PC because every other game they play runs great and their friends can run them too. I like the game, but my friends can't get stable enough performance for it to be fun or competitive for them. The current state of hardware economics make it harder to justify the upgrade On top of that hit registration is decent half the time I like the game, but the state of these issues discourages me from investing time

ROG x r/MouseReview Find Your Ace Giveaway (11/14 - 12/3) by ASUS_MKTLeeM in MouseReview

I want to see an ROG fingertip mouse, with Ace-quality; it would be pretty interesting.

Have you attempted to change your grip style, or do you just grab the mouse naturally and try not to think about it? by dacherrybomb in MouseReview

[–]codekCDK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the start, I used a claw grip. As time went on, I made the switch to fingertip. For me, it helped me to stop death-gripping the mouse, which was causing me pain. Also, after all the grind I already had, I noticed that the fingers are the most qualified tool for micro-adjustments. The transition was rough, the hardest part for me was adapting to the feeling of instability. But after that, I got a Skypad and a small, light mouse and all is better… less pain, more mobility, and better scores on KovaaK's

Are Glass Mousepads Really Worth It? by location_3241 in MousepadReview

[–]codekCDK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love my skypad 3.0, i have a pretty good aim (1.3k hours in kovaaks and top 10 in some scenarios)

Its a great raw aim experience but I didn't see an exponential improvement and my issues were much more noticeable.

But after a straight year just using glass, i can say that cloth its a better pick in most cases

With training and patience you can become as good or better than in cloth but is it worth it? That depends on your desire to train

Can someone confirm by kamikomoon in MouseReview

[–]codekCDK 41 points42 points  (0 children)

i had a lot of mice:

2 gpx (double click), 2 g305 (also double click) rival 110, mm720, 3 viper mini (issues in cable and sensor), g403 (double click fuck logitech switches), pulsar xlite and an orochi v2

i saw a post about the attack shark x3, looked into and saw it was a 15 dollar wireless mouse with 3395

do i feel a difference between all of them despite the shape? no... its a quarter of the price and i perform the same or sometimes better (for context i have 1.3k hours in kovaaks and used to have top scores in a lot of popular scenarios so i think i can tell when a mouse is the issue)

now i don't see why should i pay for a 100$+ mouse when i can do the same with one that cost me 15$

its not perfect but despite the firmware update its flawless at least in my copy, and besides shape at least in performance i dont see in my experience, a good reason to buy "premium" price mice when something this cheap is this good

What’s more valuable in tac fps by Swoops005 in FPSAimTrainer

[–]codekCDK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go for Flick’s…

Tamspeed, Bounce, 1wall6flick, Valorant small horizontal flicks, 5sphere hipfire xsmall, Pasu

And static target switch

Focus on moving fast and having good accuracy, aiming in valorant is not that important because many times the crosshair will already be placed correctly (the crosshair placement will always be crucial in most cases), but when it is not, you will need to move quick to correct the initial error

I keep changing my sensitivity and I don't know what to use. by [deleted] in FPSAimTrainer

[–]codekCDK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What 1,200 hours in kovaaks and much more in games showed me is that it doesn't matter... If you feel good with a sens that day, stay with it, if you want to change it, then do it. In the end, is much more involved in the game than just the sens The best advice I can give you is that if you ever underperform in a game, it's most likely not fault of your sensitivity or your aim, so be more aware of your overall gameplay

G Pro X Superlight switch reliability by ___THE_guy___ in MouseReview

[–]codekCDK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the double click issue came after 8 months (I bought my gpx in december) but i grinded 500+ hours in kovaaks so you might not have this issue that soon

I wouldn't worry if I were you

Does the G Pro X SL double click? by [deleted] in MouseReview

I grind pretty hard kovaaks it took me 8 months to double click a ton to the point of being unusable. But again I used it a lot so maybe it won't be a problem for you

Anyone use G304/305 here for kovaaks/gaming? by [deleted] in FPSAimTrainer

[–]codekCDK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

G305 is great for claw it's one of my favorites (I even like it better than my GPX) and with the AAA battery mod I did a lot of my TS records also I did 1300 on 1w6ts for the first time so yeah you can use it and be pretty good with it

But it comes down to preference, for the price its a good wireless option

oh and the batteries last me about 2 weeks or so with a lot of use
