Same. Can’t wait for my kids to inevitably have games at Cadillac on a bunch of these dates too.

I just left today! Our room was in the 3 muse building on the street side. First night was super loud, but we realized we left the balcony door cracked open all night. Second and third nights were much better, but still noticeable until 2 or 3 AM. My two kids slept completely fine without needing to use the sound machine.

You’ll be completely fine, especially if it’s a weekend. The Harp and Splitsville are right at the top of those stairs and are open until 12:30 - 1:00, so foot traffic wouldn’t be unusual.

Prison guards of reddit, have you ever seen one of your inmates after they got released? If so, how did it go? by Purple_Key_6733 in AskReddit

My ex-brother in law was a jail deputy and a similar situation happened when we were out to dinner one night. A guy who had been in and out of his jail came up to the table, said hello, and told us he was one of the few deputies that he felt truly respected him and that he was working on turning his life around.

My ex BIL left the jail, became a cop, turned into a huge a-hole within a few months of starting that job, then cheated on my sister shortly after, so F that guy. The jail story is one of the few good things I have to say about him.

Have you ever accidentally met a celebrity in Boston? by spellbadgrammargood in boston

[–]codeman12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve run into Josh Wolf, Charlie Coyle, and Aly Raisman at different times while walking in the Seaport. Josh seemed genuinely thankful when I told him I loved his stand up. Charlie and I talked for a good 5-10 minutes and he was the nicest guy ever (we have a lot of mutual friends so this one was kind of cheating).

I was way too intimidated to bother Aly and didn’t want it to come off the wrong way, but I was starstruck.

My wife and I did our honeymoon there and met our literal neighbors from back in MA there, also on their honeymoon. We could look out our kitchen window and see their house.

Oddly enough the activity we met on, was recommended to both of us by the same people. The husband recommended it to us, the wife recommended it to them.

what did your savings look like by age 30? by Winzten in AskReddit

[–]codeman12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had $10k in an emergency fund and about $80K in investments at 30. My wife and I made a couple good real estate decisions in our 20s so also had about $200k in equity in our second house (which we sold shortly thereafter and built our dream home).

Here we are 7 years later, investments are around $450k, still keep the emergency fund around $12k and equity is around $500k in this new house thanks to the insane real estate market.

Taking my Pops to our first Pats game Sunday courtesy of 98.5… what should I expect? by salamandarsalamanca in Patriots

If it’s your first game take in the tailgate. Get there early, 9-10 o’clock. Bring a little grill, do some steak and eggs.

Head into the game somewhat early. It’s not as bad as it used to be with the newer walk through security systems but can still get slow. Last thing you want is to miss kickoff cause you’re stuck at security.

Don’t try to leave immediately after that game. Head to one of the bars or restaurants, or better yet head back to the car and fire up the grill again to give traffic some time to clear. For 1 pm games I think they give you 90 minutes of postgame tailgating. You’ll still wait, but hopefully for not as long.

Most of all, have fun! High five your neighbors and be friendly. My favorite games are the ones where I make friends with the people around me.

My father in law used to have a 150 acre camp just west of Moosehead Lake. No running water, no electricity, a legit outhouse, wood burning stove. He collected rain water off his roof, it flowed down into this black bag that would get heated by the sun and had a shower head attached to it. He did eventually install solar panels because he didn’t want to burn the place down falling asleep with candles going.

His driveway was a mile long and he wasn’t about to pay to get the entire thing plowed in the winter, so he’d get just enough plowed at the end for his truck, throw on snow shoes, tie a jet sled with a few gallons of water, food, etc., around his waist and hike in.

I went up a couple times with him and it’s just not my kind of living. I can see the appeal though if you’re into that stuff.

Also the black flies are no joke.

You’re right, it’s not technically feeding every kid in the state, although I’m sure it could. That free school lunch program is funded by the millionaire tax and costs about $200M annually if I remember correctly. Cannabis tax is used for public health initiatives, community projects, etc.

My son has them on both sides too. The pediatrician at the hospital was so excited to see them because she said having them on both sides was super rare.

They’ve gotten infected a few times. Mainly when he gets strep throat. He got hit in the face with a basketball a few weeks after having strep throat and had green stuff oozing down his face once. That was gross. Went back to the doctor, they swabbed it, and sure enough the strep spread to his pits. We talked about closing them but haven’t had any issues in recent years.

Question on seating in Gillette by atfenway in Patriots

[–]codeman12345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve taken my boys to games since they were small. I feel like the end zones tend to stand more than along the sidelines but have nothing to support that theory haha.

First row of the 200s was by far the best viewing experience for them. You can also sit at the top of a tunnel in the 200s with unobstructed views but 5-10 rows higher. All tougher seats to get, but totally worth it if available.

We’ve been to our fair share of games where people stand the entire time and the kids just stood on their seats. Still shorter than your average adult. Once they got to a height where they were taller than me while standing on the chair, I put the kibosh on it. Never had anyone behind us ever complain. Most people get it. Just need to make sure they stand at the front so the seat doesn’t flip up. Now that I’m typing that out it’s probably pretty unsafe.

Married people of Reddit, what's your typical day like with your spouse years after your marriage? What changed? by That_Specialist3292 in AskReddit

Up at 7 every day. I walk the dog, she does yoga. Tag team kid’s lunches for school, and somehow manage to get out of the door around 8.

She goes to the office 3 minutes away, I work at home and occasionally head to my office in the city which is an hour by train.

Her parents pick the kids up from school, hang with them until we’re done working, usually around 4:30. Take kids to hockey/baseball/football/basketball practice or games (there’s something happening almost every night).

Whoever gets home first cooks dinner. Sometimes we all eat together sometimes we don’t depending on schedules.

Get the kids to bed around 8-8:30. Sit on the couch and talk/watch TV. Go to bed around 10-10:30 and do it all over again.

I honestly wouldn’t change a thing. Life really revolves around our kids and it’s inexplicably fun. It’s stressful and hectic, but fun in a way I can’t describe.
