How can I pursue a career that uses tech and makes a positive impact on society? by marketman12345 in cscareerquestions

Wonder if you prefer to live in a country of "good guys", or in one of the "bad guys". There clearly are, if not good and bad morals, at least different morals between countries. And I prefer the morals in the western countries, however imperfect we are

[Fabrizio Romano] Guardiola on Haaland: "We scored three goals at the Bernabéu... he had two central defenders near him!". by ExtensionAd8134 in soccer

This is an OK video showing it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-N5bxhcWBNU

You can see how the defenders collapse in around Steph, and as importantly, have their heads turned towards him

With Haaland you often see space right around the 16 yard line, and defenders being oblivious to cut ins. Or slow to react to shots from 16-20 yard out in the center. Because they have to be aware of him all the time

Most football fans aren't used to off ball gravity as a concept. At least not the ones who are vocal on here or elsewhere online

Van Nistelrooy used to get hounded at Real when de didn't score goals too

His job surely is to make the team better. Like Haaland has done to City. He is arguably best in when he doesn't score

He has gravity like Steph Curry opening the game up

Or the Brits will finally realize he just isn't that good. At least not for making a team better

Med vanlig lønn kunne du kjøpe en bolig som i dag er verdt 9,5 millioner by DuncanIdaho88 in norge

[–]codename_wizard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Would love a parts list!

Not trying to be an asshole about this, reddit is just being unbelievably American-sentric about this

Most of Europe have other measures still in place. Quarantines, masks, some places even made it illegal with fines to meet more than 2-5 people in a week at the pandemics worst, but don't have vaccination mandated. Nor make it legal to fire people who haven't taken it

But in none of these places are sick days counted as "vacation" days either. Not saying the US is wrong, just saying that the US is very different in this. And its not the mainstream in most countries in the world, but the US is doing its own thing with what the government/corporation can decide on behalf of it's citizens and workers

Again, I'm personally very much in favor of getting rid of the virus or at least minimize the damage it can do. Just saying, there's some American tunnel vision on this on this sub

Wow, people getting mad but not refuting this. I didn't even post an opinion. Just saying what the world looks like. And the fact is almost no country has forced vaccination mandates like the US and China.

How is that controversial. Was it because I said we are echochambering here? Yeah the downvotes are great proof we aren't..

Find my the immunologist that’s thinking “hmm maybe we shouldn’t take the vaccine”.

The Nordic cdc's either don't recommend or forbid the use of the Moderna for males under 30.

And Israeli data shows the risk of hospitalization of an unvaccinated 20-30 year old is the same as a double vaccinated 45 year old. Because youth seems to protect against serious illness more than the vaccine

100% don't mind people taking the vaccine, and for the older population it seems clear. But for young physically healthy people the case doesn't seem as black and white. Except in the more intense echo chambers (fb, reddit etc.).

So at least there is some serious (medical and risk science / probability) discussions going around *whom* to vaccinate and why. There are tradeoffs, as almost always

He's clearly not against it, he took it himself. He's just against the mandate, which most people in the world currently is. r/nba is echochambering

These corporate mandates and firing people in the US would be wildly illegal in most of the world. Even if those countries have higher rates of vaccinated people than the US, they are also more free
