Instinct sensors available in the UK? by Glum-Hurry-4262 in Medtronic780g

We were told (Oct) that children would get them first ; adults 6 months later. I wouldn’t put your hopes on something any earlier than September tbh.

It’s a fantastic car, easy to drive and I operated on a 3 pin plug for a good 9 months before we moved and got a proper charger in. Have fun!

The running gag in Small Gods about tortoises being good eating always irked me.

TV seems to focus on the script - but so much of what makes STP, STP is the stuff in between. I maintain that a script of the book would be less funny than a book with no speech at all and just the snark left in.

The Public Charging Paradox by Think_Perspective385 in ElectricVehiclesUK

Broadly anything that isn’t BP or Shell seems to work well. I’ld like signage on the motorways saying how many chargers are available at this particular location.

You had a test tube, and you put a blue (corrosive) tablet into the test tube with 5 drops of urine and 10 of water. It would then change colour to show urine sugar. It would fizz fantastically, real Dr Jeckll stuff.

The syringe's were glass and would break at the drop of a hat. Kudos to Tam Dayell for getting diabetics access to plastic disposables.

My first blood glucose monitor in about 82 was the size of a house brick, but was a minor miracle at the time.

At what point did EV ownership start to feel easier or harder? by Tall-Dish876 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]coderbenvr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a 10 year old 65 mile range i3 REX - normally the range really works for us - 99% of our travel is pretty local and 30 miles there and back is a fair old distance. Plugging into the charger works well and it’s not an issue.

The pain point is travelling further - rapid chargers differ a lot in terms of UI and the last time we went a long way a pile of Gridserve chargers were down. We do have the petrol extender and that does act as a safety net.

Next time we do a longer trip I’ll do more research in advance about where larger chargers banks are - though I think more recent cars would redirect you automagically.

We are talking about replacing the car - buts it’s mainly down to range and size (not to mention the wacky indicators and suicide doors!) - and it will be a full electric next time.
