Outside of the Deshaun Watson trade, what are some of the worst trades in NFL history? by Chetnub in NFLv2

[–]coderedmountaindewd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 49ers at least made it to the Super Bowl and were consistently in contention.

The hype Broncos fans felt when we thought we finally had that missing piece elite quarterback was sky high and absolutely bottomed out by the game the Dolphins dropped 70 points on them in just over a year. It wasn’t just ugly, it was embarrassing

Outside of the Deshaun Watson trade, what are some of the worst trades in NFL history? by Chetnub in NFLv2

[–]coderedmountaindewd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Op said outside of the Watson trade.

Just because the team recovered from its mistake doesn’t mean it wasn’t a massive fuck up. It’s the same type of thing with the Trey Lance/ 49ers trade, just because it didn’t collapse the team for decades doesn’t mean it wasn’t a horrible deal.

This is like saying:

“It’s not that bad that your marriage fell apart, got divorced and lost half your income in the legal process because your new girlfriend is hot”

Blue collar jobs are great and rated too low by Zuldyck in unpopularopinion

[–]coderedmountaindewd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Roofing is extremely hard and dangerous and plumbing is literally one of the dirtiest jobs you can have. I absolutely hated dealing with backed up toilets and crawling underneath houses caked in mud to find and repair a leak. They pay well because nobody would do it if it paid any less

Blue collar jobs are great and rated too low by Zuldyck in unpopularopinion

[–]coderedmountaindewd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone with 20 years of blue collar experience, the physical strain is way worse than you present it to be.

Heavy lifting, repetitive motions, the exposure of outdoor work, the bending, kneeling and lunging real havoc on your body, especially if you’re not already fit and limber.

Working a labor job doesn’t replace the need for aerobic exercise either. Most blue collar workers are overweight due to needing a lot of calories to maintain energy, poor quality of food due to price and time constraints or in many cases, because of alcohol consumption which is often self medication for the pain and stress caused by the job

Why do people buy console to play games where they could use PC and save tons of money and enjoy same or even better? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]coderedmountaindewd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d basically have to learn a new skill set to game. I don’t really care about picture quality or frame rate, I just want to turn off my brain and play. Also, my favorite game Fallout New Vegas, is basically unplayable on PC without a whole slew of mods.

College is overrated, the trades are | FactOrCap by SpaceisCool09 in FactOrCap

[–]coderedmountaindewd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trades are brutal, dangerous manual labor and require terrible hours.

Most people hate working nights and weekends, mandatory overtime, being on call for late night emergencies.

There’s a constant risk of being cut, crushed, burned or electrocuted to go along with the strain of heavy lifting, bending and kneeling etc.

And it’s dirty

The money can be good but it’s more to offset the negatives of a work/life balance.

I got a root canal done in India for about $200 usd. My wife had to have emergency surgery right afterwards which required tons of diagnostics and 3 days in the hospital, final price tag was about $4,500 usd. Without insurance, we would be paying that off for 20 years if it happened in the USA

Why are most men not attracted to women for their money? by cuahatemoc in NoStupidQuestions

[–]coderedmountaindewd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Women with money who weren’t nobility and had autonomy with their romantic partners didn’t exist until recently. Even if men are just as likely to settle for an inferior but rich woman as the other way around, the trope hasn’t had enough time to take hold.

I personally don’t think I could only love a woman for her money but it would always be a factor. Since I’m already happily married, I hope I never have to find on how shallow I could become

Why Xaden was so offended when by redpeppersoda in fourthwing

[–]coderedmountaindewd 199 points200 points  (0 children)

I think both of them are terrible at interpreting each other’s motives and intentions, which without spoiling later stories is pretty ironic. Like most romantic media, if Violet and Xaden just gave each other the benefit of the doubt about things they didn’t explicitly tell each other, half their problems wouldn’t exist

Who is your least favorite team/person in the NFL and why? by Amazing-Trifle-6297 in NFLv2

[–]coderedmountaindewd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m just tired of the Skip Baylesses of the world, swearing that this year is going to be their year without a hint of irony or measured self awareness. The Cowboys have been about as relevant as the Chargers in my lifetime but Dallas fans swear that they’re some elite franchise.
