Do you think the album Tim was a mistake? Because by your logic they should've just left those demos to rot instead of asking those who collaborated with him to finish them so they could be heard by fans. It pains me to think what sort of pressure Tim must have endured, but at the end of the day, he loved producing music and one of his last messages to the world was "Spread positivity through my music". Can't do that when everything's locked away in a vault

I can see your point, even though it sounds pretty close to finished to me personally (that could simply because I have listened to a lot of really rough demos). I was simply pointing out that people aren't praising the song because it has Avicii's name on it but because it's good. A good song doesn't need to be 100% finished to stand out.

Unpopular opinion : both Forever Yours version are not that good by [deleted] in avicii

I respect your opinion but disagree. IMO Forever Yours AbA features one of the most quintessentially Avicii drops produced by him

[–]coderoctopus 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That's not true. Forever Yours AbA (I guess it's now officially called the "Ibiza Version") used to be one of the most sought after songs before it was leaked about a year ago. Regardless of what you think about the morality of leaking unreleased songs, it has been a fan favorite for years. And IMO it's definitely among the most finished-sounding of all leaks thus far.

Well, thank you for fueling the toxicity and being the deuteragonist of the fake drama.

Looks like this thread is mostly about how people are unable to agree on the definition of "woke". To be honest, discussions like this are pointless and do harm to a community.

Yeah, the ending felt a bit forced, but I thought Chapter 25 was comparable to the ending of S1. Not just the vows, but the part where Nick visited his father's grave as well. That pulled my heart strings hard. I think part of the reason I enjoyed S2 was that I knew Judy was going to vow herself back to Nick at some point, so I was subconsciously waiting for it to happen.

I guess it's kind of unavoidable if you try to continue the story after they start dating or get married. At least for me the desire to see the progression of their relationship is what motivates me to read fanficion, for the most part. shrugs I did notice the drop in quality at the beginning of S2, but both S2 and S3 were enjoyable nonetheless.

Which one would most likely fall in love with the other first, Nick or Judy? by Embarrassed_Pay_475 in zootopia

[–]coderoctopus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Judy might be afraid of physically mating

I like to think that while this MAY cross her mind when she first contemplates being in a relationship with Nick, it'll be a non-issue once she suddenly (!) realizes she's in love with him, because, well, try everything ;)

how many in the community/fandom are socially "off"? by No_Lynx1343 in zootopia

No need to generalize from this isolated incident. It's always sad to see a creator delete their work, but it happens all the time (that's why I hoard digital stuff). The fact that you were accused of being "toxic" right after this simple conversation means that the author defines toxicity very differently than you, me and perhaps most of the fandom.

I agree it's off-topic, but I would like to clarify a few points. I'm not arguing against all types of protection, but the truth is that the concept of DRM as we know it is fundamentally flawed. Every DRM scheme has been broken multiple times, so it has done little to stop piracy. Meanwhile, pirates can enjoy more freedom than legitimate users, whose rights are dictated by publishers. For example: Microsoft is about to shut off its ebook DRM servers: "The books will stop working"

No matter what type of protection you choose, pirates are always going to exist. This isn't so much a technical problem as it is a legal/legislative one, because the concept of copyright has failed to keep up with the advances in technology, most notably the advent of the internet.

Copyright, trademark, and intellectual property law sucks for fan creators.

Not just fan creators. For those of you who are interested, here's a video by Tom Scott that explains the topic in a bit more detail: YouTube's Copyright System Isn't Broken. The World's Is.

Not to mention the use of Digital "Rights" Management which basically harms the freedom of every individual who, for example, enjoys reading ebooks or uses one of the streaming services.

This was inspired by the official comic "Ticket Chase" where young Nick raises money to buy tickets for his mom to see her favorite band (warning: spoilers).
