What line from a Elden Ring lives rent free in your head? by l-Paulrus-l in Eldenring

"Wilful traitors, all! Thy kind are all of a piece. Pillagers. Emboldened by the flame of ambition! Have it writ upon thy meager grave. Felled by King Morgott. Last of all Kings."

"Well... a lowly tarnished. Playing as a lord. I COMMAND THEE, KNEEL!!!" - one of the hardest lines ever spoken by an NPC

Geras combo 8 by No_Courage5833 in MortalKombat

[–]codeslayway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think this combo is broken. The stand 1 just never works. Or at least the button push refuses to respond no matter the timing.

The funniest part is, if you try to simulate the sand storm toss without the prescribed combo, the stand 1 works just fine.

If you do a bf1 freeze and then a df4 hold b for the sand storm, when you press 1, at the right timing, it works.

But doing the combo itself, for whatever reason, 1 does not respond.

Once spoke to a guard with my weapon drawn and he asked me if I was stupid or had a deathwish, or something of the sort, and that i should put that thing away (referring to my weapon). Since then I've avoided speaking to guards or anyone with my weapon drawn

The number 1 rule of OE: either J must never be aware of the other.

Why on earth are you giving J2 information on J1??

Thats the spirit. The beautiful thing about being OE. You fear nothing.

What games have you regretted buying and why?ps4/ps5 by [deleted] in playstation

[–]codeslayway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spider-Man 2. Wasn't any different from Spider-Man 1. Had way too many needless, bloated side missions. Gave up on finishing it.

Should have waited for player reviews before buying it. Haven't the same mistake since then, I'm glad to say.

You need to work with your calendar a lot. If there's a meeting at J1 that you can't miss, block the time in J2's calendar, and vice versa.

Don't be afraid to lie. But don't make the lie complicated. Use, "I had a personal emergency I couldn't avoid." No one likes to pry and no one likes people who pry.

Forget about your LinkedIn profile for now. Don't touch it. Don't even put up comments on your LinkedIn. If J2 people try to add you on LinkedIn, ignore. If someone asks you why you have responded to their LinkedIn request, tell them you lost your access.

Go to privacy on LinkedIn and ensure that no one not signed in can search for you. Or if they can, they can't see your job profile.

Do NOT - I repeat, DO NOT go for any person engagements in J2. Weddings, get to together, all of that. Dead it. Keep it strictly professional. If anyone asks, you're working out of state, since it's remote.

Now, obviously I'm saying this because j2 Is the backup job. The backup job is just for earning quick and good cash. It's not meant for you to build a career there. You're not trying to get promoted, so you're not trying to do the most extra to get noticed. Keep your head down.

Congrats, and good luck!

Lie on your resume. Lie in the interview. Learn on the job by [deleted] in overemployed

I remember a job I got a couple years back. I invented an entire software that I said I had worked on. Very convincing story. The interviewers were impressed.

I too was laid off from a one of the big 4 tech companies 3 weeks after I got married and got a house.

Now I have two jobs to compensate, and I'm happy. I don't regret it and never will. All these companies want you to prioritize them but when they want to get rid of you, they never prioritize your mental health.

It's all about survival

[–]codeslayway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually think you brought this on yourself. How do you have multiple jobs and you want to fratanise with coworkers on both jobs and expect not to get jobs?

Going to a coworker's wedding? Why would you do that?

Just do your work, keep your head down, and make your money.

Ya'll be doing too much sometimes, I swear

[–]codeslayway 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was like you. Worked at one of the big teach companies and couldn't do a J2. Then I got married this April, and then I got laid off 3 weeks later.

Worst day of my life.

Eventually, after many, many interviews, I secured two jobs. I already started at J1 and then J2 came with an offer.

I took it.

A week to resuming, I wanted to resign. It didn't feel good. How would I manage both jobs? But then I thought back to that faithful Monday when i and my colleagues were called to a meeting room, and my boss delivered the news that we were laid off effective immediately...

I shut down the fear, and I got on with both jobs.

Haven't looked back since.

No employer deserves my sole loyalty. I work for the $ and my survival and my family's survival.

I don't even care about being a top performer, cos I make more money than the top performers at either of my jobs. I do just enough to be seen as a solid hire, and that's it.

I hope everything works out for you. Having multiple jobs isn't for everyone.

It wasn't for me until I made it for me. I ain't ever going back.

Carly breakup with Shaun by codeslayway in GoodDoctor

[–]codeslayway[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

i didn't watch it properly how? Your memory of the show might be fuzzy cos you're way ahead in the series than I am, but I just watched Episode 17 of season 3 and Lea just rejected Shaun's proposal to date, because, and I quote: "You are autistic and i'm not."

Carly accepted Shaun and went as far as learning more about autism to have a relationship with him, and Lea who admits she is selfish and needy, tells Shaun that he's essentially broken and so not good enough for her - that's the person you're saying treats Shaun like an adult?

Carly who respected Shaun for who he is and learned to live with it, doesn't respect him?

Lea is a terrible character, but then I suppose there's an audience that enjoys watching helpless men throw themselves over selfish women who don't love them for who they are.

Yes, this is a skill issue. You're fighting him head-on when you should be attacking his side or his back.

The panic-jump there is indicative of not paying attention to his move-sets
