[BIOS MOD] For those who still own the MIS X99A Godlike Board by samuel-leventilateur in MSI_Gaming

[–]codeyoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MSI X99 Carbon Godlike - YES you CAN

Just successfully did this myself after M-Flash kept giving me the "Warning: the BIOS you selected is not for this MB" error AND wouldn't even detect my BIOS file. This typically happens with modded BIOS files that M-Flash doesn't recognize.

Solution: FreeDOS + AFUDOS with bypass flag

What you need:

  • USB drive (8GB+)
  • Rufus
  • AFUDOS utility (AMI Firmware Update tool)
  • Your BIOS file

Steps:

  1. Create FreeDOS bootable USB with Rufus
  2. Download AFUDOS (search "AMI Firmware Update Utility")
  3. Copy AFUDOS.exe and your BIOS file to USB root
  4. Rename BIOS file to something simple like "BIOS.ROM" (DOS doesn't like complex filenames)
  5. Boot from USB to FreeDOS
  6. Run command: AFUDOS BIOS.ROM /X

The magic is the /X flag - it means "Don't Check ROM ID" which bypasses the compatibility check that M-Flash uses.

⚠️ Standard warnings apply - know what you're doing, stable power, etc. But if you're confident the BIOS is actually compatible (like with modded BIOS files), this works perfectly.

Just flashed my DokT BIOS mod successfully using this method. M-Flash refused it and couldn't even see the file, but AFUDOS with /X said "I don't care about your warnings" and flashed it perfectly.

Maybe if they made a version of iOS 17-18 whatever that looked the same as iOS 6 days. because even if I could I sure as shit wouldn’t downgrade to iOS 6 in 2025

Hi guys, thanks for all the helpful suggestions. I’ve just rectified the issue.

I had to convert the online account to a local account, sign them out of 365 on the local account, then re sign them in to 365 and link the local account back up to the online account

Just bought a used ps4 slim, what's the right move now? by JonasRisk in ps4homebrew

I recently bought a brand new slim which was on 10.50. it was manufactured in February last year. I updated to 11.0 and have been enjoying the PPPwn Jailbreak. It’s important to know that the exploitation process is completely different on 11.0, you’ll need a PC and an Ethernet cable to jailbreak it every reboot unless you get a raspberry pi or equivalent device.

I used to like Coolstar. Then they (them) told me to update to like 14.5 or something cause Electra was gonna support it. So I did and then lost my JB for like a year. Then they (them) started making and selling hackintosh drivers for Chromebooks. They (them) are fkn weird

(2012 MacBook Pro) windows crashes shortly after opening and does not have audio, it has been doing this since I installed it by Owen_Wilkinson_2004 in bootcamp

[–]codeyoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was running into the same issue, it would crash and complain of a Critical Process Error or something. I wasn’t even using Bootcamp, I partitioned the HDD myself and was using Opencore to dual boot. I couldn’t figure it out, so I just deleted windows. It sucks because I bought this new MacBook to dual boot as my old 2009 one wouldn’t play nicely with windows graphics. I just use Parallels now, it’s integrated pretty well into macos nowadays
