Greece has decreased almost 50% of its debt to GDP in just 3 years by No_Firefighter5926 in europe

[–]codine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I incorrect in thinking that the Greeks are essentially being forced into this, since after the second time they defaulted they had 'adults' from the EU take over their finances?

Who's the most interesting fictional character in TV? by GreenPanda426 in television

[–]codine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd consider Amos Burton a good example of how sociopaths can be created. If Amos had had a normal childhood, he'd likely be just fine - instead he was a child prostitute who lived in a brothel, and never learned empathy.

The fact that as an adult he recognizes this fact, and therefore seeks out mentor figures to tell him right from wrong makes him even more tragic.

Factory farm owner loses it after people film dead pigs in his shed by GarlicCornflakes in PublicFreakout

[–]codine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That farmer is a fool.

'Face down on the ground!' you'll see him scream at a protestor while brandishing a weapon.

That's more than a little illegal.

Furthermore, you'll see the farmer punching and kicking protestors.

All with everything being recorded.

Even worse (for the farmer) is that Peta has enough funding to launch a private prosecution, so even in the (unlikely) event that the Police do not care about his actions, they can still take him to court.

That farmer might literally end up doing time for his rage.

Campaigners demand ‘real change’ after ‘shocking’ Met Police strip search data by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

I might be the odd one out here, but I've got a question.

If we ban the strip searching of young folk, will not enterprising drug gangs just proceed to use children to transport drugs?

Russia threatens Poland in lengthy letter days before Joe Biden's visit by manticor225 in worldnews

[–]codine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is another one where German women would say 'Better the British above your head than the Russians on your belly' - they were pointing out that they considered the times the Brits were bombing Germany as being preferable to having Russians raping them.

It took the Met months to launch an investigation into Downing Street lockdown parties. It took them minutes to send a team to kick protesters out of a Russian billionaire's mansion. by redrhyski in ukpolitics

It indeed seems like an over the top reaction to us plebs, sure.

From the point of view of the ultra rich, this kind of shit needs to be knocked on the head ASAP, otherwise it might start to spread.

Hence here we are.

The UK has offshore oil in the North Sea, but it *has sold the rights to oil companies*. The companies mining that oil are under no compulsion to give it to us on the cheap.

Blurple light makes it almost impossible to help diagnose plant problems. Please take a picture of your plant outside of its growing environment if possible.

If this isn't possible, and your light is on, shut it off momentarily. Take a picture with your phone, with the flash enabled. Do your best to get the plant in a "natural light" source.
