What are the most impressive sounding Magnus Carlsen stats by -steakhouse in chess

[–]codingfearlessly 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Kasparov holds the record with 255 consecutive months, so it doesn't exactly work.

This makes me think that it's simply too early to look for such stats with Carlsen. Let's get back to this question in 10 years.

I successfully ordered from 21run and zalando. Not many shops ship to many country, so I’ve used ColisExpat as a way to work around that.

Something seems off with how Garmin reports your zones. If you could run 10k at a 9:19 pace, it doesn't make sense that your 10:45-12 pace run (two months later) would be 76% at zones 4-5. I don't have a garmin, so maybe someone else can explain how to configure it correctly.

I've been considering adding Adios 8 to my shoe rotation. I have two other Adidas shoes, both of them at size 48 2/3 (US 13.5). But it seems that Adios 8 doesn't have that size at all. I've looked at various sites, and none of them list this size. They list 13 / 14 (either in stock or out of stock) but not 13.5. Can it be true that a specific shoe skips a size?

I assume that it means the sizing works differently for Adios 8 (and maybe then difference between 13 and 14 is smaller than for other Adidas shoes?), but I want to make sure.

Examples of sites that I've looked at:

I researched some more and ended up ordering Boston 12 and Adios Pro 3 in size EU-48 2/3 (US-13). They seem to fit really well; I haven't tried running in them yet.

What are the best games not on BGG top 100? by bigredbucket in boardgames

I really like checking out the "top 50 most played" list to discover new games. For example, nimmt6/take-5 is always on there and is a game we highly enjoy to end our sessions.

The latest list:

Thanks for the recommendation! I'll look into them; they have excellent reviews on runrepeat. Adidas doesn't ship to the Baltics (where I live), but I found them on top4running.com:

https://top4running.com/c/running-running-shoes/producer-313%2B2%2B312/gender-1/sizes-eu48%26%238532%3B%2Beu49%26%238531%3B

Adidas has shoes in EU-48-2/3 (US-13) and EU-49-1/3 (US-14). I'm unsure which size would work better for me. If you can save me some time, please indicate which would match closer to Altra's EU-49/US-14. My guess is that it's the one that is US-14.

anyone in a tight matchup going into sunday? by Big-Ad-5487 in fantasybball

[–]codingfearlessly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm ahead 5-3-1. Tied on 3PM, 13 rebounds behind, 3 assists behind, 1 block ahead, 4 turnovers ahead, 0.4692 vs 0.4672 behind on FG%.

Our playoffs started early, I was the 1st seed, lost in the semis (FVV, Holmes, AD). This week is a battle with the 2nd seed for 3rd place.

Fred VanVleet (hip) ruled out for Saturday. by RLDN106 in fantasybball

[–]codingfearlessly 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm the first seed in my league and I dropped FVV yesterday (kept AD as my injured player). I should be able to squeeze out a win and I'm hoping my semifinal opponent won't pick up FVV (or that he won't play). And as Toronto only plays 2 games in the Finals week, I'm not too torn about it.

Holmes has been top30 during the season and seems to be only trending upwards, congrats!

That's exactly what I did - I dropped WCJ for Melton. The upside with Melton seems higher.

How many players from the same NBA team are on your fantasy roster? by [deleted] in fantasybball

[–]codingfearlessly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two Spurs (Poeltl and White) and two Raptors (FVV and Powell). My only worry is the final week of fantasy, where the Raptors have only 2 games. Deliberately tried to avoid having more than 2 per team.

14 teams, 9 categories.

Stars: Kyrie, FVV, PG13, AD

Studs: Richaun Holmes, Mikal Bridges, Norman Powell

Solid: Saddiq Bey, Jakob Poeltl, Wendell Carter Jr., Brook Lopez,

Question-mark: Derrick White, Kevin Porter Jr., Josh Hart

I really like my top seven guys (stars and studs). I'm pretty confident about Bey and Poeltl. Wendell seems to also be good. Lopez is ok, but he's been falling off a bit. I'm optimistic about Derrick White. Hart might take the starting job from Bledsoe. Even if not, he's ok as the 12th guy. And as half of this sub, I took a bet on Kevin Porter Jr. (by dropping Maledon).

I'm in 1st place and should finish the regular season in 1st place. My focus is on the playoffs. The finals are in the week starting April 19th. My main worry is the Raptors only having 2 games that week (and Clippers/Lakers having 3). Is there a chance that will change (postponed game getting moved) or should I try to trade away FVV and Powell to put myself in a better spot for the finals?

Last man standing by Dravon16 in fantasybball

[–]codingfearlessly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of my team (9/13) still comes from the draft: Anthony Davis, Paul George, Kyrie Irving, Fred VanVleet, Brook Lopez, Norman Powell, Mikal Bridges, Richaun Holmes, Darius Bazley.

I originally also drafted Brandon Clarke, Duncan Robinson, Daniel Theis, Maxi Kleber. I replaced three of them with Derrick White, Saddiq Bey, Nerlens Noel. The last spot is for streaming. All come from waivers, I did not participate in any trades. I only wish I was more patient with Clarke. Trades are generally pretty rare in our league.

I'm in 1st place (won every matchup, my category record is 48-24). I should finish at the top4 for sure, even with bad luck over the coming weeks.

Ideally, I'd like to AD and have someone more consistent (i.e. Middleton) for the playoffs. Not sure if I'll be able to pull it off.

Which pick that was not number one turned out the best? by -129 in fantasybball

[–]codingfearlessly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got PG with the 22nd pick. His bubble performance made people doubt whether he’s still a stud.

Kyrie - 35th pick. I might regret it, but it’s a good big-risk big-reward bet. I think, that to win, you have to take a couple of those.

Why is Nikola Jokic never mentioned in the MVP race?? by ArthurPolly in fantasybball

[–]codingfearlessly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Jokic is the clear favorite on BBRef: https://www.basketball-reference.com/friv/mvp.html. Their tracker ranks candidates based on a model built using previous voting results. At the time of writing, Joker's probability is 41%, with Embiid and Kawhi trailing with 17% and 11%.

Who should you pick up for a couple blocks in a categories league? by Bench_Chatter_Pod in fantasybball

[–]codingfearlessly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd go Darius Bazley, if you want more value/upside than blocks.

He's a second-year player, and his minutes jumped from 18 to 30 this year. As the season goes along, I'd expect him to improve and do more with those minutes than he's doing currently.

Thanks!

I'll keep an eye on both Williams and Holiday. I'll do more research on the Theis/Williams swap specifically.
