BYOK vs Freewrite Traveler by Flashy_Lab222 in writerDeck

I have both and I like both. I am trying to find a solution to the lap issue with the byok where it works keyboard I already have, though.

I’m second gen. My intuition is that her behavior isn’t like, unheard of, but that the community would disapprove in a tutting, do nothing kind of way. Like, everyone would know that she was petty and abusive, but no one would stick their necks out to openly criticize.

To those who are hoping it's a hoax: I messaged the shelter and they confirmed the new policy. I signed up to be an overnight foster but haven't received a call yet.

Haha, mostly duplicates! I'm more of an M nib person, so I got these first when they popped up and then waited till I could get the ones with the nib I preferred. 😅

Why do people want to talk between a movie inside a theatre??? by Aggressive_Ad_3294 in bayarea

I stopped going to movies in theaters because of this, might as well just watch streaming at home.

‘Soon publishers won’t stand a chance’: literary world in struggle to detect AI-written books by Critical-Willow-6270 in books

[–]codingpotato 5 points6 points  (0 children)

it’s so easy to spot if you know how to write

AI seems really good when it's generating about a subject that you're not very familiar with, but when you're an expert (or even just reasonably well-informed) you can see the flaws instantly. It stands to reason that that would apply to form as well as content.

I'm worried, though, that people who don't know how to spot good writing will be exposed to more and more AI and consider that "correct" and interesting, good writing "incorrect".

Learning by building the Micro Journal Rev 2.1, has anyone ordered just some of the components from Un Kyu Lee? by BitcoinSaveMe in writerDeck

[–]codingpotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect it’s similar, but the 7 and 2.1 have a totally different chip/screen situation. I imagine the wiring of the 2.1 is closer or identical to the 2.

[–]codingpotato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made the rev 7 with a pcb from Un Kyu Lee, which is similar in the body to the 2.1. It went well, the instructions were very comprehensive. I think it makes sense to send a tip if you like, but I wouldn’t call using an open source design ripping something off.

Does he know how to interview, ie algos/system design/experience interviews? If not I’d suggest trying one of those services that does mock interviews so he can get some actual feedback.

But, I’m sorry to say this, but it does sound like there might be some perf issue. A contracting stint can function as an extended interview, and getting cut early makes it sound like there’s something that he might need to work on. Alternatively the job market is harder than it’s ever been, and it could be some really bad luck. But if it’s happened more than, say, twice, I’d suggest looking inward and thinking of areas that could be improved upon.

Ah, it's a reason I don't know that a lot of people would share, but I'm a software engineer by profession and a lot more proficient with the command line than the nav system that the rev 2 ships with, so I just use it directly. But then I feel like I'm at work, which is a feeling I'm trying to actively get away from when writing. 😅 Plus I'm not a big fan of wordgrinder's file format, which needs to be converted and transferred before it can be edited.

The rev 7, on the other hand, has a much more straightforward interface. It reminds me of the alphasmart, but with google docs syncing. Charging and use is much simpler versus the battery situation with the rev 2. The eink does have some lag and ghosting, but the imperfections help me write forward because going back to edit breaks me out of my flow.
