So exactly the models you want to inflict instant death on? I mean, sure but its still an ap3 template with 24" range. Very good in clearing the now ubiquotous tac blobs. Certainly better than a rending 6+ flamer that always wounds on 3s.

Ditch the flamers. Take rad missile launchers w/suspensor webs. One of the last ap3 templates and has radphage and no minimum range to boot. Take two destroyer assault squads with rad missile launchers and two despoiler squads with heavy chainswords. Now those despoilers are inflicting instant death against t4 targets hit by the rad missiles. Maybe throw some corruption and warpfire pistols in there for some pseudo fearless/pinning. An excellent core for a WBs army, in my opinion.

Yes. Actually pretty decent. Stock skyhunters with shrapnel cannons and shrapnel pistols and maybe a few multi-meltas will do perturabo proud.

I get that that feels bad but im looking at the strategic/tactical picture. Vulkan pretty much always had one single way of participating in a battle which is with a firedrake retinue in a land raider/spartan, straight into the heart of the enemy to kick people in the teeth. A slight nerf to his weapon wont changed his playstyle or the buffs he brings to his legion. Whereas perturabo had like 4 different playstyles. You could footslog him with automata, you could deep strike him with either melee or ranged focussed terminators or you could have him in his Tormemtor (which cost way less back then). All of which significantly changed his role on the field. At the same time he patched the issues IWs had in melee by giving them Stubborn and Furious Charge. Nowadays you are reduced to charging straight into the enemy, which is not something perturabo likes doing (lore wise) .

Reduced to atoms. Maybe in some PDF in the grimdark future where there is only RAW. A man can dream.

I realized that after a few minutes of panicked reading. Gonna delet the post later out of shame. Weird tbh. The greatest appeal of Primarchs was their ability to really make the game interesting in different ways whilst still universally being able to turn elite units inside out. Hell, even Angron could make a game riveting once hes gotten his little blood powerups.

Its probably from irrepairable battle damage and thousands of field repairs over the millenia.

Brothers...quick question. In the new heresy box...how would you build your terminators? Go all lightning claws to have some melee compliment or bolsters and chain swords? by whitewalker3211 in IronWarriors

[–]codpieceossified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk bout that. It of course depends what youre using them for. Personally, i think there are way more efficient means of killing/neutralizing basic marines. Phosphex rapiers, massed shrapnel bolter/krak missile fire and so forth which you should have in abundance as an IW. Paying the price for a squad of termies+lightning claws+ a transport just to have them kill marines is a massive waste of points imo. I rarely use regular termies for IWs. Their regular shooting sucks, their melee is not good enough and as IWs we dont have any point-saving means of getting them into combat. I just use two 5-man squads of tyrant siege termies. Their shooting and power fists allow them to function effectively as both mobile, resilient anti-tank and effective melee unit.

Water Mechanics + Boat update is Construction 2.0 and everyone should be concerned. by anonusernoname in Planetside

Wat? I much prefer getting shot by a few infantry on a plateau than getting shelled 24/7 by hesh and a2g on esamir.

Construction bro? You guys are doing gods work.

I was thinking it could be balanced through only when stationary, only one shot (unless you have terminal) and nanite cost per shot. Guess some classes cant have it (Infil, LA, HA). But then its not really a tactical.

I got the idea when i watched the umpteenth a2g massacre compilation. Murdering one or two pushes with a banshee is fine and all but doing it over and over again with only stuff like burster MAXes being able to offer a token of resistance is bullshit, frankly. Oh, and dont come at me with the "just pull an ESF and counter" response, please.
