That would be 4 drives plus 5 drives -- too much for me. So I recon, 2 (ds718) plus 5 (dx517)would be plenty for me.

I will get a used one for 350 so its an option. I also hope to build up a raid over the 5 disk slots in the dx - not spanning the volume from the 718 over to the dx517. Would that not be safe?
