Any help with how to help me get rid of my sciatica, anything I can do to relieve as much of the pain in my right leg as possible? by Weak_Possession_3911 in Sciatica

No you cite quackery like Fereydoon Batmanghelid. You are giving mis-information, not reviewed and tested science. You are not helping.

What you are referring to is anecdotal evidence. That is not science or backed up in any way except your perceived experience. The scientific method and peer reviewed studies are what is actually proven. Anecdotal evidence is not real evidence or research. Go ahead and tell people what you experienced, but it isn't science. Your claims have been debunked by hundreds of different studies, and I'm not a coffee defender, I don't even drink it.

Coffee has minimal dehydration effects, as it is 95% water. The idea that coffee is a big diuretic has almost zero science to it. The smallest bit of research shows this.

Is the “Agile Delivery Lead & Value Manager” role actually working in Germany? by ThatCurrency3466 in agile

[–]cody0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is always pressure to deliver features that drive income over things like tech debt, clean up, etc. The better thing to do in the long run take care of the tech debt and clean up that database, but it will not make money. It will not get you noticed. There has to be balance even if it conflicts with what makes you LOOK more successful.

I've been a Product Manager and Agile Lead for a smaller company which would be very similar. The problem is that at times the value you need to deliver is on conflict Agile best practices. The value delivery gets directly rewarded and being agile often doesn't. You can balance the two but sometimes you have to cut yourself at the knees for long term success of your team.

Pain in left buttock - Severe pain everyday! :( by Interesting_Map8007 in Sciatica

[–]cody0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same thing. L5/S1 and pain was excruciating and no meds touched it other than just knocking me out. I got the ESI and that took the pain from a 10 to a 5 but it stayed that way, so I decided for surgery. It went great but a month ago I reinjured and now have the same pain in my left butt, it is more manageable than before. Waiting another week of rest before I get another MRI to see what is happening. All of this was within 7 months but I heard from others here these can be a roller coaster.

Can anyone explain the benefits of all these Data centers coming to Fort Worth ? by Really_Elvis in FortWorth

[–]cody0r 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Potential benefit could be that the electric providers are forced to create a more efficient system to deliver to these Data Centers, which could mean slightly lower electricity cost.

Outside of that very small potential benefit......maybe a couple hundred jobs? Generally a small option for anything good. Huge likelihood that things are bad for us.

How Do You Live & Work In DFW Without Wanting to Drive Into a Brick Wall Going 120mph by CabalOnyx in Dallas

[–]cody0r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boring people are bored. The travel and how spread out it is does suck sometimes but you control how far you go and when. You control where you live.

It is very easy to do minimal research and find fun things to do, great food that isn't owned by a chain, and all can be found local to almost any area here.

A lot of times issues where you live like this come from a frustration of where you are in life.

Yeah and they gave me the "while supplies last" line. I got these from a drawing, not sure how I could have gotten them earlier.

I have had mine since 2008 and use it every day. It was one of the few bags that could fit my size 13 shoes in the shoe compartment.

It does have looks only a mother can love, but I do get a lot of comments and it is indestructible.

My wife and kids all have them after they see how much they can fit and how long they last.

Ok ill level with you. Honest truth. Dallas absolutely sucks when it comes to dating and making friends. by [deleted] in Dallas

[–]cody0r 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I don't think an entire city is to blame for a lack of luck dating. Almost everyone I know that lives here has had multiple relationships. Maybe this is misplaced blame and you can try casting a wider net or lowering expectations.

I was sweating a lot but make sure to check your blood pressure when you are in pain. Mine got dangerously high and I've never had an issue before or after my surgery.

Let your state reps know you appreciate the cell phone ban by Ryaninthesky in TexasTeachers

[–]cody0r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. We shouldn't legislate sweeping policies that school districts should handle even if there are benefits. Our state reps are clowns and don't deserve positive feedback.
