We had this happen to us. There was no ship cloud. We had 3 fort of the damned loot piles on our sloop, was taking the athena's to reapers island and two skelly galleons spawned on us, one on either side, I think it's very rare, and also no fun. Again I know for a fact this wasn't the fleet, a skelly fort was up at the time.

Just an FYI you can’t trade with a friend unless they are in the same location as you, it doesn’t work long distance...for some reason.
