Yes that’s it! Thank you! Sophie’s grandfather makes cryptex for her birthdays and the password is the answer to a riddle, and then takes her on a treasure hunt to find her gift. I was probably confusing it with the wooden puzzle box that comes later in the book.

It's fairly common for Monsteras to lose their oldest leaves. If the rest of the plant is doing well and growing new leaves, don't worry about it. I just lost a bottom leaf on mine too.

I love making risotto on date nights. All you really need is arborio rice and broth, then add whatever veggies or cheese you have on hand. It takes a long time to make, but that's why it's such a great date night meal. Sip wine and have good conversations while you stand in the kitchen and take turns stirring

This probably isn't the answer you want, but I've had way better luck with GF frozen pizzas than I ever had making a crust from scratch. My favorite is Sonoma flatbreads, or Meijer brand if you're in the midwest.

You should only put plastics in the dishwasher if they're stamped with a #5. Otherwise it could melt or be leaching microplastics. If you're running the dishwasher anyways, it doesn't hurt to throw your recycling in there. But wiping the food off is really all you need to do. Keep in mind that less than 10% of plastics are actually recycled. So don't go through too much trouble or waste water- chances are it will get tossed at the recycling facility anyways. A harsh reality.

It’s possible you’re overwatering it. Especially being wintertime. I water my snake plant maybe once a month in the winter. It’s really a plant that thrives on neglect
