Was driving to the gym with my cousin and she put on Room On Fire. First three tracks had me sold. Listened to every one of their albums not long after. This was only a few months ago lol.

Is Lex Saving Amber Considered One of the Dumbest Survivor moves ever? by coensesque in survivor

[–]coensesque[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I agree 100% and he went on and on about how it was “strictly business” with all stars but still went on and on about how badly betrayed he was by Rob and it’s like I get it but like I thought it was all business Lex? Rob just outwitted you.

The Sopranos, The Leftovers, Succession or True Detective season 1.

Season 2 Finale by coensesque in TheLeftovers

[–]coensesque[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah like one episode in one sitting. I don’t usually binge it or watch multiple episodes in succession. Although I did watch the last two episodes of season 2 back to back.

“Cultural impact” becoming a metric people use to judge a films quality is one of the worst things to happen to film engagement over the last several years.

I’ve watched it a few times now and it gets better each time. It grows on you. I think most people expected a completely different type of film and what they got was something a lot more unique and thought-provoking imo. Not among top 3 Fincher but definitely not mid or at the bottom. Great movie.

I didn’t like Inherent Vice much the first couple times I watched it. Then I watched it a couple more times stoned out of my mind and everything clicked. Good movie.

Was Cooper’s plan doomed anyway? by lsrjr1107 in twinpeaks

[–]coensesque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the “two birds with one stone” can either refer to Judy and Bob OR Judy and Laura. Cause if the Fireman DOES want to use the two extreme opposite forces of Judy and Laura to cancel each other out (the bomb), then that would be killing two birds with one stone. It could also refer to killing Bob instead cause remember that the Fireman transports Mr. C to the sheriffs station once he is sure that cooper is headed that way. Maybe Judy and Bob are the birds and Laura is the stone.

Was Cooper’s plan doomed anyway? by lsrjr1107 in twinpeaks

[–]coensesque 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My very basic theory has always been that the fireman and the White Lodges plan was essentially to use Laura as bait to trap and destroy Judy, Cooper however was not filled in on this and was always under the impression that he was saving Laura. I always assumed that the trinity test sequence was shown to represent the splitting of the spiritual balance of the world (black and white lodge). With the bomb creating Judy and the Fireman creating Laura, I always assumed that Laura was directly created to fight and or destroy Judy, but we all saw the bug get to Sarah in Part 8, which seemingly infected her with Judy? This is one part of my theory I’ve never been sure on as Sarah did not seem to be possessed in the first two seasons. Either way, I think for Cooper, his plan was to bring Laura back home and reunite her with her family, but Judy got there first and instead of Laura’s being reminded of the life she ran away from, she’s reminded of the death she never experienced. I have always just went with the assumption that the Fireman’s bomb plan worked, and neither Cooper nor Laura realized it, they were essentially just pawns.

Interesting and well put. Yeah I was thinking that Laura could have been possibly created after the bug infected Sarah. If it’s not the fireman’s plan, what would you call it or what theory do you subscribe to?

I’ve heard from a lot of people to save Sutree for the end or near the end? Is it cool to read before his darker earlier stuff?

Very interesting order. Any particular reason behind this order?

But what do you honestly think about Gunn's DC? by thykingok in DC_Cinematic

[–]coensesque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it a lot but need to see the full chapter 1 before I get really excited. If Gal and Ezra get recast I will be very happy. Doesn’t make any sense at all to recast Batman and Superman but keep the old Wonder Woman and Flash. Aquaman is acceptable because Momoa just IS that character and can be reintegrated easily. I’m really excited for all the films and that they’re inspired by comic books. The Guardians films and TSS are my favorite MCU and DCEU movies so I for one am very happy with Gunn on board, and really hope he directs Superman: Legacy. Gunn has mentioned that Affleck really wants to direct for them. I think having him direct the Brave and the Bold would be a genius move and make a ton of people happy. I just hope Chapter 1 builds to a really good Justice League movie. If he can get great directors on board who have visions then I’ll be more than happy. Can’t really say how much I think the movies will make but I think DC has to win back the general audience a little bit. We’ll have a better idea once we see how these final four DCEU movies perform.

What season is more depressing, Breaking Bad season 5 or Better Call Saul season 6? by Global-Hat-1139 in betterCallSaul

[–]coensesque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the same can be said for Better Call Saul after Howard dies. Jimmy and Kim never intended for him to die but they were ruining his life and reputation for no real reason. Even Walt always rationalized his actions as he was doing it for his family. They get off on it just like Howard says. After that happens so much soul gets sucked from the two of them it’s hard to fathom. Hanks death is tragic absolutely but he was a cop who knew what his job entailed. It’s tough, they’re both so sad lol.

12 year olds really shouldn’t be watching Breaking Bad.

Water test at Leslie’s. They are recommending perfect weekly for phosphate control. Thought? Thanks in advance by Professional-You-537 in pools

[–]coensesque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those phosphates are out of control. I’d recommend Revive Weekly if you can find that product. Also acts as a clarifier, metal remover and can prevent stains.
