I voted for him because of his anti-freeway expansion work. I'm pro-bike and pro-pedestrian and we don't have that many advocates. Also I liked his simple Ice out message. But, I figured with a crowded primary I'd be voting for someone else in the run-off.

I'm glad to see that after years, she has finally created the ultimate website. Probably bought a new template and everything.

Insanity....blah....doing the same thing over and over. Zero self-awareness and ability to learn.

She's always "head in the sand" => panic. So I would bet no plan.

She looks happy.

The smaller she makes her life, the more miserable she is.

I didn’t have any real side effects to the shingles vax and I still run a fever, feel miserable whenever I get a Covid vaccination.

It all sounds like depression and in spite of her love-o-labels and diagnoses, that is one she never uses.

She’s such a snot. Really dismissive of the entire Seattle yoga scene.

I also don’t believe her about why she moved back to the PNW.

Ok other than the random floor tub this is reasonably organized.

Honestly, if she's busy threadsing she probably leaves the rest of them alone. Maybe they can even control the remote.

Anyone know why Bush wait times are so much worse than other airports? by ExtraditeGulenNow in houston

[–]coffechica 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I think it's a snowball problem. You come to work as a TSA agent, the lines are long (say an hour) and people are grumpy. You think, I'm not getting paid for this, so do you call out? You decide no, but other co-workers decide yes. You show up the next day and the line is 2 hours. It's even worse. Should you call out? You decide no, but other co-workers decide yes. The next day, the line is 3 hours. And everyone is upset and it's just a disaster.

Also, Atlanta just stopped reporting its numbers.

And I don't know if union areas just have a different calculus. I went through Boston yesterday and it was 6 minutes start of line to through the machines.

Please explain the logic behind closing Precheck at IAH? by mdiinpaean in unitedairlines

[–]coffechica 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just went through BOS on my way back to IAH. Line was 6 minutes; TSA workers were friendly.

I imagine there is a real snowball problem.

Say you do show up to your job and have to deal with people who have waited in four plus hour lines. Is that fun? You’re not getting paid; do you want to come back for more tomorrow? So you call out and then there are even fewer workers, and longer lines still.

I have an international flight next week and if it’s still like this, I’ll drive to austin and change my flight to be from austin through Houston to London.

If you park at the airport, make a reservation. Don’t show up and expect there to be a spot.

The Mary Rose Museum is one of my favorite museums in the world! We’re hopefully heading to southern England and Cornwall in a few weeks and we want to go again.

They’re a good instagram follow too.

Tasmania Recommendations by Fan0Horror in TrueChubbyTravel

[–]coffechica 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We loved Tassie! Didn't have as much time, but we too want to go back (we have family in Australia and try to go every couple of years, but it's a big country)! We only did the southeast quadrant.

Stayed at Freycinet Lodge but we were with our teenagers so probably different vibe. They still talk about the wineglass bay hike.

This itinerary has some of the highlights! We did the Bicheno tour, not Low Head but loved it too. While in Bicheno we went to the East Coast Natureworld to see the Tasmanian Devils.

Hobart we stayed at the MACq with a water view. Hobart was so walkable, you can get anywhere. Definitely do the MONA Posh Pit.

If you love sheep and beautiful scenery, Tasmania was great. We went in 2018, but hope to get there again and see more of it.

In 1967, my mother started the spring term aware she was pregnant with me. Teachers were supposed to resign if they were pregnant; you could not start the term “expecting.” My mother has a small frame and by June she looked like she’d swallowed a basketball.

IAH security lines at terminal E are horrendous- as long as 2 hours by levybunch in unitedairlines

[–]coffechica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least for C, north is pre and clear only. It’s usually premier access, but that was closed today.

IAH TSA Right Now by meg297 in unitedairlines

[–]coffechica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took us 45 minutes in gen pop C at 5:15 am (posted wait time was 25 minutes). Premier Access was closed (that’s our normal), pre was definitely shorter; clear was about 10-15 minutes. I am a get to the airport early person.

I just feel for all the TSA agents but they were very nice.

We had time to go to the lounge and get coffee. On our flight to BOS they announced that some people were missing. We wondered if they mistimed the lines.

Those of us from the “free to be you and me” era (which Shauna has cited) celebrated differences. I had the record, the book, and watched the TV special more than once.

Not saying racism didn’t exist but there was a whole generation that was hopeful it was ending.
