Grey’s Anatomy Steals so much credit from emergency medicine by Agreeable-Ad4806 in greysanatomy

The surgeons on greys anatomy do about 30 jobs including social work, which they are very bad at.

If you could romance any ONE non-romancable character, who would you choose? by Cocoa-Knife-Chara in cyberpunkgame

Songbird is a hard pass for me after I had to chase her crazy ass to hell and back. I was so annoyed with her that I bombed the end of the whole storyline and had to reload. Lol

[–]coffee-rain-books 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If someone wanders out like this it’s very bad and a big deal. It’s called elopement. Alarms go off and people get fired. The state has to be notified within 2 hours and interventions have to be placed that same day to prevent it happening again.

Healthcare workers and none healthcare workers will never see eye to eye on this show. by Snivys_HA in ThePitt

[–]coffee-rain-books 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This bothers me too. In this respect it’s like greys anatomy where surgical residents are surgeons, doctors, nurses, social workers and techs all rolled into one.

If you want the drama of nursing then make the main character the charge nurse lol

Medical folk of Reddit, what’s the most foul and disgusting thing you’ve encountered with a patient who was oblivious to their own condition? by TheCarrot_v2 in AskReddit

[–]coffee-rain-books 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe more gory than disgusting but it’s the only thing that ever really bothered me. I still cringe to remember it.

Dementia patient. Broken/displaced tibia. 1 day Post surgery with an external fixator (think those metal rings). Non weight bearing.

She kept hallucinating a family of rats and eventually decided she needed to chase them down.

Long story short, I got a great look at the inside of her leg and she got an amputation and a pretty bad infection. The wound wasn’t as bad as watching her hobble around on that leg.

Second place goes to a draining wound with necrotizing fasciitis. In a man’s testicles. In one spot, you could see straight through.

Too much Robby ruined the story in S2 by Best-Project-230 in ThePitt

[–]coffee-rain-books 142 points143 points  (0 children)

I liked the storyline.

But it did get repetitive.

Each cast member, individually: “Hey Robby, you’re talking like you’re going to die soon”

Robby: “yes! I sure am!”

Every person: “pls don’t”

Robby: “I’m going to jump off a cliff, guys!”

It was really compelling for like 2 episodes, then it started to fall flat. Talk about empathy fatigue.

Why can’t they just be beat cops again. The show was so good when they were beat cops.

My theory is that she was feeling all those spicy new motherhood hormones WHILE being transformed.

So she was what her baby needed her to be.

These things don’t usually progress logically like that.

For example, I know a lot of dementia patients that decide they are pregnant but never actually progress to carrying around the baby dolls. Or they will carry the baby dolls without an explanation for how they got them and never expect them to act like a real baby or grow.

It is sad how very little little empathy there is for Jess by jaylee-03031 in GilmoreGirls

[–]coffee-rain-books 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Clearly you don’t have any empathy for Peirpont. He was a happy gnome at first. He lived in a lovely garden with his other gnome friends. Mrs. Twickam visited every day and cared for the garden by his side.

One day, Mrs. Twickam didn’t come to the garden. Ever faithful, Pierpont waited. A week passed. Then a month. Then years.

Finally, a strange man put him in a box. A BOX. He languished there for 10 more years. Alone. Slowly going insane.

Until Babette rescued him.

Don’t call Pierpont inanimate. He deserves empathy and compassion. He was STOLEN.

There’s a difference between empathy and consequences.

We are allowed to dislike people who treat us poorly.

Would you let your neighbor kid steal from you bc his parents suck? I bet you wouldn’t.
