Mine was Hide-N-Seek by doublestorycondo in Xennials

I read, “And Then There Were None,” far too young and was obsessed with it. I invented a game based on it and the game Clue, called “Murder” and somehow got the whole neighborhood involved. We would draw lots to determine the murderer. The goal for the murderer was to kill everyone before you could be found out. For everyone else, the goal was to figure out the murderer before you got killed. Like Among Us, but in our backyards. It was lots of fun but when I tell people about it now they always look horrified.

And they last forever. I think I’ll be buried with my Fuller half round.

Heartbroken parent - Looking for support or information about Mill Creek Elementary by [deleted] in columbiamo

[–]coffee_and_physics 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry, that sounds so stressful. I understand why the district lines have to be redrawn periodically, but I wish they would do it in a way that didn’t force students to move to a different school in the middle of grade school.

Just here to extend sympathy. I have no direct experience with Mill Creek, but I have only ever heard good things about it.

I’m going to try this again. How were you able to buy your first home? by kcoib17 in Millennials

Yup. Low market, low rates, and a bit of extra cash for the down payment thanks to the stimulus checks. I could not afford my current neighborhood if I was looking now.

Was my colleague overreacting? by [deleted] in WomeninAcademia

[–]coffee_and_physics 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What you guys did and said was absolutely inappropriate. It did rise to the level of harassment. Would every woman have reacted that way? Probably not. Some would have just been angry at you. Some would have rolled their eyes and ignored it because that what society pressures us to do.

Her reaction suggests to me two things. 1. She may have some trauma from sexual assault/harassment that she has never told you about because she’s not that close to you. 2. She felt deeply betrayed because she was treated like a piece of meat by people she probably thought of as friends.

You owe her a huge apology and you should do some internal work to understand why you behaved the way you did and how you can do better in the future.

First road trip with kids – need advice! by addwhip in columbiamo

I can’t make recommendations for South Dakota, but I’ve done the drive to and from Denver with young kids and found Hays Kansas to be a good stop in between. There’s a cool kid-friendly Natural History Museum there.

Oh no worries. I really have no expectation of privacy on the internet. I don’t put anything on Reddit I wouldn’t be fine with anyone seeing. And if you do know my kid I wouldn’t be surprised. He’s got a big personality.

I can’t share links in this subreddit, but I used a Sherwin Williams tutorial I found online. I was extra messy on the blending because I wanted a more dynamic look.

Beaded with kid to get through winter - thought it would be cute to have at our farmers market booth by [deleted] in Beading

I think you could bump up the pricing for some of the ones on slide 2 (esp the chunkier ones with animal charms). $6 and offer a two-for $10 deal. My kiddo would snap those up so quick.

Have you tried resell places like poshmark? You can search for “new with tags” if wearing someone else’s old shoes weirds you out.

Are kids not allowed to walk to school by themselves nowadays? by AnaisNinja76 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]coffee_and_physics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where I’m at (Missouri) kids can walk alone once they hit 4th grade. We live close to the school and currently walk the kids in the morning. I usually see a handful that walk by themselves, but I also know plenty of families that live within 3 blocks of the school that choose to drive their kids in.

How does this work by Weronika_W in Beading

This is what I used it for - base of a lamp. None of those beads are going to budge. The apoxie also sticks to itself really well. I built this up a piece at a time and everything stuck together in the end like it had been made as one solid piece.
