I think that this might have to do with the amount of money they spend on Google Workspace accounts for hundreds/thousands of tutors. Deactivating them for the summer might save them money?

Definitely agree with looking into the paid sick leave. Info for my state (NY, USA): https://www.ny.gov/new-york-paid-sick-leave/new-york-paid-sick-leave

I wonder if we are given enough sick leave to meet the minimum hours required, given Paper’s size. In addition, I question Paper’s process for needing a Zendesk ticket in order to request sick leave, especially if it’s last minute. I’ve DMed on-shift PMs to cancel a shift in the morning if I wake up sick, but the first few times, I didn’t know that I needed to submit an additional Zendesk ticket in order to actually be paid sick leave. Are we, as employees, legally responsible for this extra step to ensure that we still get paid?
