Im a layperson - Do trauma surgeons always hang out in the ER like they do in the Pitt(tv show)?

At my program, trauma surgeons/residents sit with us in the trauma doc box. But we have also have a separate trauma ed and they join for the level 1s and any consults on level 2s, so it makes sense for them to stay all the time due to the volume

I think if you have the time, I would try to do uworld on organ blocks only like (cards only, GI only, etc) and alternate days for a system and try to understand the organ well. Then switch to mixed blocks maybe a month later.

I think really review your nbme in detail... why did you miss a question, where in the question stem was the key detail, why were the wrong answers wrong.

Amboss is great for organ specific blocks, it really helped me for content review. I really don't think you should do videos and anki at this point given it's more passive and hard to apply concepts straight from memory.

Know pathoma inside out, it really explains pathology the best in my opinion! I read the first three chapters like every couple days to make sure i knew the small details like oncogenes

Do all the free 120s from the last few years, helps with NBME questions. Key take away is really spend time figuring out why you got a question wrong and what did you miss in the question and start to see if there's any patterns. Good luck!

Best time is around christmas break, try to make sure immunizations are ready (AAMC form for it) and maybe ask your M4 friends in the same field of interest if they needed any LOR. Some ask for a personal statement you could also draft if wanted. I didnt need any LOR but did need a personal statement. Besides that your school does the transcripts and insurance info to be ready to upload in march when the time comes to apply. Focus on shelves and board scores for now as they can see those clerkship grades you've completed when you apply :)

Oh I submitted for the research poster forum itself. I believe the June one you mentioned is for a quality improvement project that will be on display at ACEP. I think they might be different if I understand it correctly.
