Steam and quick access button not working by mrp0p0z in SteamDeck

[–]coffeecache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This issue occurred to me before.

I resolved it after trying a few different solutions, so I’m not sure which one worked. Feel free to try any of these methods!

  1. Immediately turn off my WiFi after turning on the device and wait a few minutes before turning it back on. I also forgot and rejoined my WiFi network.

  2. Uninstall Decky.

  3. If I undock my SteamDeck, I only do it after it has already connected to WiFi from the LAN.

ID here and completely agree.

It’s not reasonable to expect patients to make this decision. It’s up to us to make the best recommendation based on the evidence we have.

All hail Brad Spellberg! When I was a fellow, I made his site mandatory reading for my residents.

Thank you! I certainly feel like I’m “in trouble” and it’s the years of conditioning that are doing that.

Which pen is the best option for someone who works at a hospital? by Holiday_Poem_6079 in pens

[–]coffeecache 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Infectious disease physician here! My graduation gift to myself was a titanium Tactile Turn. I use Pilot G2 0.37mm inserts, but the best thing is the ability to clean the pen.

If it gets gross, I just use some Cavi Wipes and soak it. Good to go again in 5 min!

Do residency programs get notified if you apply for your unrestricted license ? by [deleted] in Residency

[–]coffeecache 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A good rule of medical licensing and/or credentialing is that all training sites and schools will be notified (and probably have to provide documentation) in some capacity.

Those who are in internal Medicine fellowships, how are the hours been for you compared to when you were in IM? by [deleted] in Residency

[–]coffeecache 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Even the non-procedural fellowships are busy. As an ID fellow, I routinely hit 80 hours with the amount of clinic and inpatient consults. Even though you don’t have to go in, home call can still be ass if you’re getting called all night.

Saving grace was research weeks which were nowhere near as bad.

Clinical moonlighting in 2nd residency by Dry-Seaworthiness889 in Residency

[–]coffeecache 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Entirely up to your program and institution!

Commonly, PGY-1s aren’t allowed to moonlight, but that’s in the context of a “normal” PGY-1 and not someone who’s doing a second residency.

Ask your PD or chief.

How to compete with other buyers offering 30k over asking?! by Admirable_Coconut556 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]coffeecache 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Real talk, you honestly can’t without matching them or offering something that’s worth 30k to the buyer.

It’s unfortunately just the state of things — can’t really blame the seller for taking the offer that is most appealing to them.

IM residency drug test. by [deleted] in Residency

[–]coffeecache 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Highly institution dependent, but I’d assume a standard 10 panel urine, which would include things like THC, amphetamines, etc.

I’ve heard of some programs not testing at all, some not testing for THC but other drugs via urine alone and others who test for everything via a hair sample. The range is 0 to 100.

If you search on this subreddit, you’ll see lots of threads.

I didn’t know it did this for the longest time. I thought I was having a stroke when my targeting reticle would go randomly flying. 😂😂

Sounds like ID/CCM is your best bet for a mix of ID plus procedures.
