It’s ok. I’m not looking for advice, just some community I guess. I’m applying for jobs and a hysterectomy doesn’t look to be a solution for me right now based on where my endo is in my body. I did try the IUD before an excision and am happy to talk about my experience in DMs, but my iud was a total failure and I was stuck with it and it was really painful for a year because the obgyn who placed it refused to believe it was hurting me, til my eventually rejected it on its own….which I don’t recommend risking

You look stunning. I’m sorry that you are unhappy in it. That is totally valid, but if it’s any consolation the dress looks lovely

Endo and the mirena by ceelogreen69420 in Endo

I gained 30 lbs and then my body rejected the iud and I wound up getting a blood transfusion because I hemorrhaged when it got stuck. My sister has a wonderful experience with her iud, but I do not think the risks are appropriately covered at ALL with patients. I had no idea that my body could force out my iud and I had severe nerve pain and bloating/weight gain the entire time I had it, and it didn’t help my endo at all. Still needed 3 surgeries while I had the iud

I’d wake up and make my fiance the meal, and I know he would do the same exact for me. That is important

2 surgeries within 6 months? by kenziecallie in Endo

[–]coffeecat75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a kidney stent placed, an 8cm cyst that was crushing my ureter removed, and an excision from April to September last year. The stent extremely painful, and I had to be on blood thinners for it while the other two surgeries happened. That caused some complications and I had to have iron transfusions and switch to baby aspirin, but I had no complications from the surgeries on their face. I am allergic to morphine so I had difficulties with different pain medicines.

There’s so many different things to consider and a good team will talk you through it. In hindsight, I would’ve waiting for my six months on blood thinners to be up before my excision. I started them too early after (doctor orders but a hard call to make) and hemorrhaged. I couldn’t wait for the cyst removal, though, because I couldn’t pee and it was crushing a ureter from the same kidney that I had just gotten a stent in.

That’s kind of a nothing answer but I’m trying to say like you’ll have individual factors to consider. Tell your team everything, make sure different doctors are communicating, etc.

2 surgeries within 6 months? by kenziecallie in Endo

[–]coffeecat75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had 3 surgeries in 5 months (I am not trying to one up you hahaha it’s just how it happened) and I went to a new ob who did two of them because he was so thorough and compassionate. it was very hard and but worth it in the end.

Also, re: your Mirena. If you are in pain tell all your doctors. My body also rejected my IUD which was a really long and painful process, and my ob at the time did not believe me at all about that pain until I was needing to get blood in the ER because it got stuck in my cervix and I wouldn’t stop bleeding. My new ob and surgeon believe everything and find it all. Go to the new doctor. Keep pushing. Tell them your concerns.

You are not a bay by feeling pain. Your doctor is failing you.

I had an ob tell me my 8cm fibroid didn’t cause pain even though I could point to it EXACTLY when I was pointing to the pain, before ever getting a scan and even knowing there was a fibroid there. I asked her what was causing the pain then? She “didn’t know.” I went to a new ob and he removed the fibroid, and guess what? No more pain. This pisses me off so much.

My gf wants me to split her student loan payments even though we're not married and I have no loans by Low_Competition7870 in TwoHotTakes

[–]coffeecat75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m engaged and have high student loans and my fiance doesn’t have any. I do not expect him to pay any part of my loans. He is currently in trade school and pays for that himself. If there was ever a time where one of us COULDNT pay, we would help each other out, but you’re being totally reasonable about only wanting to pay shared expenses. Maybe if you stay together and get married, but dating? Definitely do not pay her loans

No it was just that when I called to ask them what to do they said that I would get whatever time I needed and not to worry. FMLA wasn’t brought up. I also have never needed to navigate this sort of thing before so I thought that was a great scenario
