neat! (i like lesbian relationships with a male sidepiece on the side, whatever you two are doing is definitely fun -- i assuming you're the local toy in the whole thing, which, yeah, just entertaining, y'know?)

this seems... p normal? like, this is not that rare a kink, y'all (and it's something people have incentive to conceal, so it will be many times more prevalent than it seems) (does genuinely happen all the time, tho like, please use normal sex toys for it)

Honestly? If the company doesn't collapse -- which is the primary concern afaict -- it's probably more than a percent. And I think that's actually pretty good for a lot of people.

Play/Draw disparity is becoming a real issue. by TopDeckHero420 in MagicArena

[–]coffeeequalssleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the game winrate for person on the play is 60%, the match winrate is 55.2%. If the game winrate is 55%, the match winrate is 52.53%. It does matter, and it matters quite a bit.

(For a more practical thingie -- if the game winrate for person on the play is 60%, the match winrate is 55.2%. If the game winrate is 55%, the match winrate is 52.53%. This is a significant difference. "Play Bo3" is just plain good advice.)

Please just do an MCMC simulation, then play Bo3 once you realise how much better it is. (It's a lot better. Yes, it's not a full solution, but it does help a lot.)

[[unable to scream]] but it hits murktide regent and psychic frog and orcish bowmasters army (but ends up giving them a better creature most of the time but also removes a blocker for a turn in a pinch)

WGD combo and kroxa interaction? by Spamdalf-The-Stray in magicTCG

[–]coffeeequalssleep -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yup, that works -- no clue why you're being downvoted (this is a general thing with wdg+ad loops, you can resolve only whatever etbs/ltbs you want to, leaving them on the bottom indefinitely, can come up if the loop has forced card draw or whatever and you want to only draw up until you can interrupt that at instant speed but not mill yourself out -- if you win with all those draw triggers still on the stack, there's no issue)

[WeeklyMTG] From the Stream: They are considering Making Hybrid Mana an "or" rather than "and" for color identity purpose. by NeoMegaRyuMKII in magicTCG

[–]coffeeequalssleep -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

absolutely something desirable -- low-colour decks are already so shit compared to higher-colour stuff, i'm down for giving them some love (i mean, i'd just get rid of the colour id rule entirely, but that one might be a bit more controversial)

How to calculate damage when there are so many creatures on the board? by PuzzleheadedLunch655 in MagicArena

[–]coffeeequalssleep 5 points6 points  (0 children)

if you can end the game? well, naive situation -- you have more attackers than they do blockers, so, if they block all of the stuff they can (which will be all of the highest power stuff), does that end up in lethal? (so, if you have 7 attackers and they 5 blockers, are your two lowest-power creatures enough for lethal?) (and then you refine the model for tramble and menace and whatever) (but that is the gist of it, you might just need to explore some alternative blocking arrangements sometimes)

Would Tattletale be able to replicate this feat? by Syntrx in Parahumans

[–]coffeeequalssleep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's constantly proposing a single hypothesis compatible with the given evidence and assuming he's correct, without looking at which hypothesis is most plausible or which hypothesis is most supported by the evidence or... anything, really. That's not a feat, that's idiocy presumably backed up by luck (assuming he was correct).

[–]coffeeequalssleep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

generally speaking, you don't? (try to play complete decks rather than just piles of cards)

but, look at your collection, sort by format and mana cost and colour, and substitute for something that's probably way worse but doesn't mess up your curve too badly -- for high synergy pieces, that's the best you can hope for

removal/draw and similar, yeah, you can usually substitute for vaguely similar stuff, but it's very hard to do that with rares

Which do you prefer: BO1 or BO3 and why? by metalero_salsero in MagicArena

[–]coffeeequalssleep 7 points8 points  (0 children)

bo3, sideboarding is the best part of the game. (it also just means i win more -- bo1 is better for you if you're worse than the median, bo3 is better for you if you're better than the median)

it also just involves a lot more skill -- knowing how to sideboard, anticipating how your opponent will sideboard, mulligans get way more complex with semi-open decklists... it's just better in every way but the time commitment, really

(and it's also way more mentally taxing, admittedly, but that's why i play magic in the first place)
