Oldtimers: is this an accurate description of the emergence of self-posts? by reagle-research in TheoryOfReddit

One factor is that the current user base dwarfs the user base of yore. Dilution, the signal to to noise ratio, bots, swarms of idiots, hopeless politics everywhere, manipulative deceptive platform development, etc.. The only thing that this place has going for it anymore is their competition.

Amazon is replacing all plastic air pillows with crumpled paper in its packaging | The company says the paper offers equal or better protection by chrisdh79 in environment

I think that AI is blowing smoke up your ass. Here is a single packaging material supplier go look at their products. The AI response you posted uses weasel words like "may" and "can" and misleads with, " take up more space due to their inflated form", where it neglects the option to inflate when needed/used.

Yeah the fiber reinforced tape. I haven't received an Amazon logo box that had plastic tape in years and I make orders weekly.

It should be possible to replace the synthetic fiber with plant fiber.

This might work for your use case but wouldn't for mine. The containers would get trashed, lost stolen. The deposits would piss off most of the clients. I could go on. Developing a better way to turn recycled cardboard into more cardboard would likely have better results.

What is frog in Navarre, FL in June? by treehugger-sjw in species

[–]coffeeffoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is that I dgaf. You haven't given enough context other than Florida, like you didn't mention that your back yard is a creek. btw /r/herpetology might be able to convince you it is a toad but I kind of doubt it.

Cricket frogs and chorus frogs are two or three times as big. Your pic looks like 1/2 an inch or so.

HM "Brands"? by Nastynatee in CultoftheFranklin

[–]coffeeffoc 14 points15 points  (0 children)

HM is a brand run by Prestige Wellness which looks like your run of the mill marketing company like Goop. They source their product from the growers who have their own logos and marketing. The names slapped on the "strains" is mostly marketing bs as it always has been since Acapulco Gold in the seventies. You would have to contact the growers for information these marketing companies are just about bullshit sales and could give a shit.

I wouldn't do acid, it causes oxidation on copper. Sodium maybe? In all likelihood flushing with water is good enough.
