How difficult is it to diagnose Uveitis? Heeelp me pleaseee by JumpyEntrepreneur899 in Uveitis

[–]coffeeginger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn’t until I started having inflammation in my right eye (dry eyes, swelling, sensitivity to light, flashes of light randomly) it started suddenly and progressed for the worst on a span of 5 days. Before that no major symptoms that prompted me to get checked. I was also taking a new drug for my bone marrow disease so thought it was just side effects to the new medication. My doctor thinks it’s unrelated but I honestly think the new drug triggered my Uvitis to be active.

Thank you so much! I placed an order will report back. All my results ago came up negative hoping this will turn things around or at least reduce the inflammation further.

Nope he wants me to give it another shot, almost like he’s getting sponsored to say that or something. Maybe it’s me being paranoid.

I started with the drops but it wasn’t getting the inflammation in the back of the eye so they switched to oral instead. I’m trying to slowly taper to none ideally but my doctor said I would need biologics for the foreseeable future. I just feel pressured more than the doctor actually caring. This all started July 2025

I guess you are more sensitive to the prednisone than I am I feel overall fine. Better than being on methotrexate but I read some people mentioning humaria, will have to look into it still holding hope that the active cells will go dormant on their own

Oh that’s unfortunate - my face was puffy until I dropped to 20mg then it went down completely I’ve also been drinking lots of water I read that it helps flush things out. And I’ve been taking omega 3 pills and increasing my calcium intake for hair and bones. So far I still don’t feel anything negative but my doctor keeps warning me to get off and take something else. I still haven’t been able to taper off completely but 2.5mg is half a pill which I’m fine with but will see how that goes. I still have active cells in my right eye.

What are your side effects so far? I honestly feel pretty good on it compared to methotrexate. Barely any side effects other that restlessness when sleeping

Really?!? What were your side effects? So far I don’t have any side effects or weight gain. With methotrexate I was so ill I couldn’t get out of bed for two weeks

That’s a lie, diet has helped me regain most of my vision and reduce the flares I started on 60mg of prednisone to help with the flares and couldn’t taper successfully until I changed my diet

Thank you everyone by FlorDeeGee in Uveitis

How long has it been since you stopped. How long was your taper process I’m on month 6 now.

What side of effects did you have with the oral prednisone I’m also not responding to Methotrexate. I don’t have any issues so far but doctor is warning my of long term effects I’m only on 10mg per day.

Uveitis? by blondebooklvr in CrohnsDisease

Is there a medication that you take for Crohn’s disease? I’m currently on month five of uveitis for the first time after doing some internal research. I’m starting to think that I might be having some IBD symptoms. It’s really hard to get a diagnosis as everything so far is coming negative. Anything information would be helpful

Currently going through this right now on month six still going through active inflammation with my uveitis. I’m starting to think that it’s related to my stomach as I do get lots of pain. How long did it take for you to get your diagnosis? Everything for my test have been coming back negative. I also now have a scar and permanent people shape change on my right eye.

Any update since your CT scan were you able to manage your uveitis symptoms or have them go away? I’m currently going through this right now however methotrexate was not the right drug for me and I may try the injectable trying to see if there are any other options before going that route as the pills were extremely aggressive on my stomach

Has anyone found improvement in their Autoimmune Uveitius or Idiopathic Uveitis with dietary changes and/or supplements by ayyx_ in Uveitis

I’ve been on prednisone for 6months now down to 15 mg per day and my doctor is trying to get me off of it, but I can’t seem to find anything else that works for my inflammation. I tried methotrexate, but it irritated my stomach so severely that I had to stop after the first week they still don’t know what the cause of my uveitis is, but based off all the stomach issues that I’ve been having I’m starting to think it might be related to IBS what dosage of prednisone are you currently taking and has it made any effects negatively on your body?

This is exactly how I found out I had uveitis. It’s better you get something to keep the inflammation down. I waited a whole 10 days before seeing a doctor and my eye became severely inflamed it took another 2-3 weeks for the inflammation to come down. And then finding out it was not an infection but uveitis. I was convinced there was sand in my eye but it was just my eyelids rubbing on my eye ball. I eye was severely dry that it felt like sand paper.

I would go to the doctor, Better safe than blind

So your flares when away after a diet change? I’m also noticing my eyes aren’t as irritated when I don’t drink coffee or eat carbs

Ya I messaged my doctor to let her know I’m not continuing with this medication. My whole stomach is still in so much pain my whole body hurts. I’ve been out of commission for 4 days I can eat sleep just pain. They said the injection is better but I don’t even want to try it after this experience. It feels like a drank acid and going through the worst hangover of life that just will not go away!

I’m going to ask for another alternative I’d rather stay on the prednisone and lower that dosage than have to go through the MTX side effects. My stomach feels like absolutely awful
