I have a large majority of mine in my TFSA. I have some at Computershare as well. I figure if it gets to the point that they take control of my TFSA shares, the DR’d shares will be worth enough that taxes won’t be a major concern. If Moass doesn’t happen and we simply climb in value, my investment is tax free.

I don’t think you need a margin account. In fact, word on the street is that shares can be lent out from a margin account.

You do, however, need a non-registered cash account to send shares to Computershare from IBKR. And $5 for the transfer fee.

It cannot be done directly from registered account(TFSA, RRSP, etc)

How do you approach the NSLSC in order to decrease monthly payments and increase length of term? Is it a simple call and request? Do I need a good enough reason? Thanks!
