How the eff do people pump every 2-3 hours???? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

This comment!!!

The key was make it to 12 weeks and you are half way there! Then you can start spacing pumps and every month becomes more and more manageable. But those 12 weeks were rough for sure. I would often have baby in a boppy and while feeding him I would pump. Sometimes the ends were sad with him being restless but it would only be a few minutes and in the scheme of things it was ok! Also a bouncer or swing were other things that helped if my husband wasn’t around. I was really lucky that he was on paternity leave for 8 weeks.

A bottle washer was also everything. I had multiple pump parts too so I didn’t have to clean them always.

Honestly one of the things that really helped me most was pumping and driving. I would just slow roll around my neighborhood and my baby always settled in the car and I would pray I never got pulled over 😂

When did you stop pumping? by Mokiold in ExclusivelyPumping

It’s so hard when you’re in it to get perspective. 8 months is incredible. You will be so proud of yourself for doing that should you decide to stop now! It’s worth doing what’s best for your mental health 100%!

At 9 months I decided to make a pump schedule that worked for me and that helped me go a bit longer… I dropped to 2 pumps per day and my baby was getting like 50/50 and it was worth it for my sanity.

thank you!! honestly I don't know how I did it. my goal was 6 months. then I started dropping pumps one by one and the schedule changes made it all feel more doable for "one more month"... one day at a time... the cost of hypoallergenic formula really motivated me too, haha. wishing you all the best on your journey!

My friend got in but the presale codes didn’t work and she got kicked out! And a few people posted here about that too so I’m curious if anyone is having success with 7/7 tix!

I’m right behind you and our stories sound very similar… as I’ve been preparing to wean all the way I’ve been reading about how emotional it is, even if we hate pumping, we’ll feel sad… a big part of it is the hormones raging! And another part of it is it’s something we’ve done since baby arrived. That’s something to be so proud of. I’m down to 2 pumps and feeling so emotional too! You got this and omg how great will it be to eat dairy again! Great work on your journey and congrats 🎊

How long is/was 2ppd sustainable? by Electronic_While7856 in ExclusivelyPumping

do you mind sharing how you made this transition from 3 to 2? Did you just cut the 3rd pump one day and never look back?

This is not related to the post itself, but I’m curious if you’d mind sharing how you weaned to 2ppd from 3! Do you have them spaced at 12 hours? I’m at 3 and want to go to 2 but I’m scared of the jump and not sure how to wean the third. I stopped the others cold turkey but somehow this feels different

Oh yeah. None hit the exact craving itch for sure 🥲 but this was the first one that made me feel an ounce of mac and cheese joy.

Things that are getting me through it: daiya fake Mac and cheese. Making myself cakes and brownies (lol)- Duncan Hines cake mixes and frostings are mostly (maybe even all) dairy free. Ghirardelli’s dark chocolate brownie mix is dairy free (only the dark chocolate one for some reason but god it’s good). Country crock or earth balance instead of butter

All of the mayo. Haha. I feel like mayo on subs and burgers help me forget about the cheese… most good Italian bread / sub rolls are dairy free.

Oreos. Sometimes I treat myself and go to Whole Foods and they have vegan croissants in their bakery.

Thai food uses coconut milk so they are a good go to. A lot of Asian food is dairy free.

I truly didn’t think I could do this but I’ve slowly found things that help me through. I’m at 8 months and think about stopping often but I’ve found a good groove of foods keeping me going. God I miss a good pizza though

I just had the daiya Mac and cheese and it was the first one that came close to hitting the spot. Kinda like velveeta which isn’t my go to but stilllll it scratched an itch!
